Let’s just say, for the sake of argument, that I have two lightbulbs.

One of them I install outside my jeep, and one of them I install inside my jeep. I want both of them to operate off of the same Jeep AUX switch - let’s say AUX 1.

Can I wire the exterior lightbulb to the AUX 1 wire by the battery under the hood, and the wire the interior lightbulb to the AUX 1 wire under the interior dash, and then operate both with AUX 1?

Test the one at the battery, if hot regardless of switch position then highly unlikely.

Yes you can.

Absolutely not a problem to do BUT, make sure the wattage doesn't exceed the switch. There are different wattage switches on the JL.

Aux switches 1 and 2 are good for 40A, unless you're running 2 massive "lightbulbs" they shouldn't need a relay. Aux 3 and 4 are only 15A which will still run up to 180W worth of lights. A standard 24" single row light bar is only about 150W. I wouldn't worry about a relay.

I will add that if the amps are higher than your aux switch, you can add a relay for a higher rating. The one under the hood will be easiest.
I did this when wiring power for my winch.

Great information here, folks. Thank you! A couple more details about my plan:

I'm installing KC Flex Era 3 Dual amber fog lights, KC Gravity LED Pro6 amber front bumper lights, and then 2 KC Cyclone V2 LED amber "chase lights" on the rear of my Jeep. My idea here is to activate the rear lights at the same time as either the Flex Era 3 Offroad lights or the Gravity bumper lights so that I can activate amber lights on all four corners at the same time with the same button.

The chase light wiring would run inside the Jeep to the under-dash AUX wiring, and the front lights would run to the AUX wiring by the battery.

Here are the specs that seem relevant:

I've not decided yet exactly which front lights I want the rear lights connected to.

I wouldn't write the fogs with the chase lights, you'll want to be able to run the fogs on road when it is actually foggy and I don't believe chase lights being on is legal on road in most states at least. With the amp draw of the fogs of put then on aux 1 or 2, the other lights could all run off the lower amp 3/4 switches.
