Got my 2021 Rubicon back today from an extended stay at the body shop after being rear ended in April of 2022.

I think some how the controls for the power windows have been inverted. For example, if I "Pull" (Hook finger under switch, pull toward me) the switch the windows go down, if I "Press" (Push finger down, button toward dash) the windows go up. Which I'm fairly certain is backwards. I compared it to a 2022 and when I "Pull" windows come up and when I "Press" windows go down.

Auto down is also not functioning either it would seem.

Can anyone confirm that somethings off or did things get funky between 2022 and 2021? or is maybe the 2022 backwards? It's been long enough since I had the 21 back that I'm pretty sure its backwards.

Yeah that is backwards, pull up push down. Unless mine has been broken all this time :)

Well, I think I need to find a different shop to fix it or solve it myself, I sent it back with this issue for them to fix along with some others and they didn't touch this one it seems.

Any ideas how that could get flipped? or how to unflip it?

All of the windows do the same thing? Does it act the same way from the rear switches?

I would have to check our 18 but there are a few things on the Wrangler that seem backwards. Go into manual shifting for the auto and you pull down to up shift. Go into the dash screen and you press the down arrow to go up from screen 1 to 2 to 3 to 4……

Its a two door so no rear switches to check, but yes both of the switches on the front bank act this way

It's definitely operating backwards. What exactly was it in the body shop to repair?

I had been rear ended, pretty much the entire rear portion of the tub was removed and replaced, both rear quarters and the rear tailgate were replaced as part of the work. at one point the body was removed from the frame which is my guess on where something got messed with causing this issue.

As near as I can tell all the other electronics are functioning as intended

You need to re-learn that particular switch.

1. Get in vehicle and without starting it turn ignition to run.
2. On the switch that’s reversed, if the window is fully up then pull up on the switch and hold it in the up position for 8 seconds. If the window was down fully then push down on switch and hold for 8 seconds.
3. Repeat for each setting up/down on the switch and hold for 8 seconds.
4. If everything worked your switch is now reset/timed. Check for one touch operation.

If that does not work then repeat same steps with either the vehicle fully running or not running but in ACC only mode.

So, slight issue here. With window up if I hold in the up position window goes down.

This did reactivate the one touch feature, however now the windows are one touch up not one touch down. Controls are still flipped up is down/down is up

Well, how do you feel about disassembling door panels and consoles?

Tearing it apart isn't an issue, I just need to know what I'm looking for when I get there.

If that helps. Window motors reverse direction by having the switch alternate power and ground positions. Somehow, You have ground on power and power on ground.

I really... really doubt the issue is with the wiring on the doors.. I cannot imagine the repair shop actually disassembling the switches and messing with them.... and even then... the connectors only connect in one way... I cannot imagine a repair shop modifying a wiring harness just for the fun of it.. unless a connector broke and they reassembled it incorrectly..

I would look into the connector going from the door to the body first before you start disassembling the door.... which let me tell you.. it is not fun at all..
