Intake curiosity

Hey gotta question here about intakes and looking for honest experiences(no backyard scientific theories). Got my eyes set on that k&n cai (see picture)….or the Mopar cai paired with either a arb or aev snorkel. If you’ve ran them/currently running any of these I’d love to hear your thoughts about them

There are a lot of posts here about CAI systems. To summarize, don't to expect to gain mpg or hp but you will gain a nice throttle sound (as long as your ears can handle the drone).

Wasn’t expecting any hp or mpg gains lol…just wanted to know if anyone had any malfunctions/faults(intake tube), interference with lights on cowl or light bar(snorkel)…more “ballzy” sound while driving.
lol I don’t mind drone I’m used to being on Harley baggers ….just trying to add some flavor to this jlu until I can engine swap it

Any extra balls the CAI add will be subtracted by running a light bar...

If you have a non-eTorque 3.6L, you could always do this to get you over the 400hp mark:

No way lol…I’m just gonna non mds hemi swap this thing…came to the conclusion there’s no point in doing anything to this v6. I appreciate everyone on this forum’s feedback to my retarded questions. Just had to get those things asked or it would have drove me nuts lol

Any oiled gauze filter based CAI systems will trade additional airflow for decreased filtration. So, IF the airflow of the intake is the restriction in the engine air pump equation then going to a less effective filter could add power. The trade off is added dirt in the engine decreasing the life expectancy of valve guides, valve seats, cylinder walls, pistons, piston rings, bearings, etc . . .

Oiled filters will pass silica period thats why majority of dirt bikes, off road and racers stopped using them 40+ years ago. I have seen doz of afe/k&n systems that have dusted turbo's and intake tracks.
