I have typically had a concealed radar detector in my cars. I have a Escort Passport 9500CI I am trying to install into my car. It was easy in my last BMW -- the spot between the radiator and grille was huge. In the JL it is tiny and there is no space. Even if I remove one of the horns, that is not enough space for either the radar module or the laser modules.

Has anyone else installed a concealed type with a the larger radar module that should be placed in the hood area? if so where did you do it? I had thought about putting the laser modules right below the headlights since that is a small cavity. However that would have placed them right in front of the halogen module and touching the heat fins (probably not good for the light system or my laser module because of the additional heat)

any thoughts? I had thought of putting the radar module (about the size of 3 iphones X stacked together) right under the adaptive cruise control module/camera. But can I screw into the bottom of that housing? I am not sure how to open the black housing to take a peek. Ideally I would want to screw just into the housing and not penetrate it too far. That would mean two screws and 3M tape holding the module in place under the module-making it look like part of the jeep electronics somewhat vs sticking out.

any ideas?

thanks

I don't think I've ever gone more than 75 in my new Jeep. My JK felt like it was going to fall apart when I got over 60.

I get the concealed radar in the beamer, but why the Jeep? How fast are you planning on driving on public roads in a vehicle that's aerodynamics are based off an unmodified Pinewood Derby car?

Detectors are counter measures on all highways. They can help when going 40-45 in a 30, etc. Like mentioned it’s not much of a worry doing 65 in a 55 but local roads are where it would be nice to know.
