So I have noticed that I get a lot of heat from my floor area near the pedals and near the transmission hump. When I pulled my carpet to clean it after a Water submersion I found heat warning stickers in the areas that I get heat sensations from. I want to insulate these areas before I put my carpet back in.

Does anyone have a favorite product for this use?

Dynamat makes one. There was a thread in the last couple weeks about the same thing and there were a couple ideas in there.

This is a little cheesy, but there is a mylar insulation that looks like thin bubble wrap. It’s in the home improvement stores sold in rolls of various sizes. That and some metal HVAC tape and you can make a heat shield pad for under the carpet.

you can also wrap that section of exhaust with…exhaust wrap. If you really want to manage the heat, take that section off and get it ceramic coated.

I put 80 mil Kilmat throughout my floor. I don't feel any heat and the sound level is notably lower.

While Dynamat is the gold standard, I believe Kilmat has become the economically available equivalent.

Ah, so this is what commitment looks like. After wrestling with the front driver's side kick panel trim removal to do a little door wiring, I don't want to imagine how long it took to do the job you've done there.

I stripped the interior including sides and B pillars. Did it over about 5 weeks. Didn't work on it every day. But maybe 4-5 days/week. Of course, I'm retired and had another vehicle.

I put a 1/4" foam insulation on top of the larger areas, kick panels and sidewall panels.

Not really. I was just bored at the peak of the pandemic.

You can get it done in sections. Pull the carpet up in the front and start sticking it down. No need to take it all apart at once.
