I have a Weathertech cargo mat in the back of my '18 JLU and it works great, but there are many occasions where I have the back seats folded down to use that entire back area for cargo. Does anyone know of anyone who makes at mat that would protect the back of the back seats and also fill that obnoxious gap between the folded seats and the cargo area?

I sent a wish list to Weathertech, but also wanted to see if there was already something out there...

Saw this in another thread... 40”x72” moving blanket from Harbor Freight. It’s not waterproof, but it will protect the back of the seats.

Awaiting delivery of my JLUR. I will use a HF moving blanket temporarily until I get around to measuring and cutting a neoprene one to fit,

It sucks that they don't just sell the protector for the back of the seats separately. I like that part of the Mopar protector. The mat itself, not so much...needs better coverage.
I agree - I like the back seat and gap coverage, but I like the Weathertech cargo mat that I have much better!

This may be the best option for me, though. I want hard plastic, not fabric. Do you think it would be possible to cut the mat part off a few inches beyond the gap so that it would overlap with my existing cargo mat?

At $130 I'd be a bit leary to cut it up. However, it looks like it might be a separate piece(s) that go on the back of the seat. If so, I wonder if you could sell the mat and keep the seat backs.

So the mat has the lower back pieces which cover the back when everything is folded down. You could probably

cut off the rectangle that is the mat to keep the gap cover. Not sure on the fit though with another rear cargo mat.

I have (2) 72x55 moving blankets I picked up at the local Northern Tool for like $6 each. Originally used them to protect the interior trim when I loaded my drums, but now it's a staple in the back that doubles as a cargo liner, which I also have, it's nice to unfold it and protect the back seats and the sides as well when hauling stuff.

interestingly, when it is folded into 4's, it fits the cargo area perfectly with the rear seats up.

When they get too nasty, toss them out and buy new ones.

And I figure if I am ever stranded in a cold weather climate, I have a back up blanket to keep warm. ;)
