This is my worst wheel that got drug across a wall and tree root while spinning while on the winch out at Stony Lonesome, 10psi and just brutalized and no bead issues and my valve stem held up just fine

I have been running Icons for 18,000 miles. I regularly wheel in the rocks of the southern California desert, running them at 8 to 10 pounds. I have never had any leakage at the O-rings or burping of air from the beads.

It has been my experience (others may have experienced differently) that inner bead failures are infrequent on the trail, so not having anything special is of zero concern to me, so the additional Method feature there is not important to me.

Regarding the cost of installing the tires, I paid an additional $25.00 per wheel to have them installed by Discount Tites / America’s Tire in Orange, California. As others have said, they have an internal memo walking their installers through the process. That is a bargain compared to the afternoons I spend rolling around my garage floor, mounting the tires on my TJ’s bead locks.

I agree with others; they get chewed up quickly in the rocks. I don't think any more than any other non-beadock. It just shows up more on the black rim than on a silver beadlock ring.

Thanks for all of the information and experiences with both wheels. At this time, I am going to go with the Method 703s and if for some reason they are out of stock or delayed, I will go with the Method 701s 2nd and the Icons Rebound/Recon Pros 3rd.

I don't think black looks bad at all on Sting Gray. Here's my set of 703s in a 17x9, -12, holding on to a set of 40x13.50s

Those look like NVM high line fenders and liners. How much body trimming did you do and how much bump stop are you using? Can you stuff them all the way up to the top of the wheel well or do they hit the bottom wheel well corners? With similar wheels and tires, plus 4.5" lift, this is my future set-up.

Those are NVM fenders and liners with a Metalcloak 4 1/2" lift. In back I trimmed the pinch seams right up to where the double wall body tub begins. In other words, as much as possible. I added 3 Metalcloak bump stop spacers on the axle pad and use the Metalcloak Durospring jounce bumpers. In the front I didn't trim anything. I am using the stock length XR front bump stop tubes with Metalcloak Durospring jounce bumpers that limit suspension compression by one inch relative the tiny stock jounce bumpers. I have no additional bump stop spacers on the axle pad. I can flex them all the way upward, and the top of the tire is so close to the closest place on the NVM fender that you cannot put a finger between the tire and the fender. There is no rubbing on the NVM fenders, but there is some light scuffing against the NVM inner fender panels when the front tires are turned sharply. I had done three trails in Moab and thought there was no tire rub. Then one of those trails where you spend all day trying to go 1/2 mile in a boulder filled stream bed showed me that there is indeed a small amount of rub when the tires are turned. I think that amount of rub is acceptable and could be avoided by using wheels with a -25 offset instead of a -12 offset.

The ride with the Accutuned King shocks is phenomenal. With a 4 1/2" lift and stock length front bump stops I have triple the up travel of stock XR suspension, and still excellent droop. And when it does bottom out the Metalcloak jounce bumpers are much smoother and more progressive than the stock jounce bumpers.

Great info. Many thanks. I'll be using the Motobilt 392 washer repositioning kit and their trim fender liners to hopefully avoid that tire rub. Looking forward to having this set-up. Now back to your regular programming.

If it helps any, this thread pushed me over the edge. I'd been sitting on buying a set of 703s for about 4 months. Figured out how to get them 5 for 4, and pulled the trigger.
