Anyone have any experience mounting tires on Rebound Pro wheels? I was just told by a national tire reseller store manager that they would not install the tires on these wheels that I have new in box.

Edit: Problem resolved with great help from Matt here from Discount Tire!

Not OP but I’ve had them down to 6psi with no problems wheeling some of the easier trails at Windrock.
And what amazes me is that you can go lower!

They didn't want to deal with the studs that are around the wheel. They all need to be removed to mount the tire, then put back in to air it up. I would suggest keeping about a dozen exra O rings on hand in case you ever have to have a flat repaired, or a leak develops. That is one of the very best looking wheels out right now in my opinion.

I have those on my JLR. Finding someone to mount them was a chore, however.

I contacted 6 tire shops in Reno/Sparks/Carson City/Minden, NV area. Everyone said they don’t mount bead locks. Period.

I explained over and over these weren’t bead locks. Crickets.

Finally a guy from Discount Tire in Reno looked into it for me said it was something they could do. He even called the DT shop near me in Carson City and gave them the process.

It cost $250 for 5 tires and I even applied the anti-seize and mounted all 80 retention bolts… ‘thanks, but no discount’ but I had piece of mind.

They require special long lug nuts so the OE lugs don’t fit.

Icon does not have a source of shops near you willing to mount tires on the Rebound Pro.

When the snow clears up in the Sierra mountains I’ll try them out.

Thank you for your persistence and patience. All Discount Tire store locations have the capability/tools to mount the Rebound Pro wheels.

If anyone needs help locating a store near you to assist with mounting, please feel free to reach out.

Work with Discount Tire… they have a Tech Service bulletin that all their stores should have access to now. They were going to charge me $30 per tire. Northridge $50. It is extra work but not quite like a bead lock. Due to the original confusion when they the local DT did mine, they ended up only charging me the normal mount, balance and install. I was the first one and a learning experience for them. Thanks again to the great service @Discount Tire.

Thank you for your patronage and the kind words. We are working hard to ensure everyone is on the same page when it comes to installation and care when it comes to those types of wheel applications.

Do make sure you take it to a competent shop if you don't do it yourself. Also too anytime you're having them remounted, You might be a good idea to have some extra bolts and washers on hand, Even the most confident of shops lose stuff.

I brought mine to what I thought was a competent shop to get the tires removed, and not remounted and they couldn't even do that. I mean it says it right there on the box. :headbang:
