Howdy everyone, the time has come to raise my '22 JLUR a bit. Currently running 35x12.5x18 Nitto Recon Grapplers in case it matters (Vapor 18" wheels).

I use the JL mostly as a DD with some trail adventures, no crazy crawling for me in Maryland.

A buddy of mine gave me a set of the AEV correction brackets (sold his JL before he installed). I was looking to just buy the AEV springs and bilstein 5100 shocks to build my own kit, but I'm not sure I can actually buy them seperately.

I installed an Icon lift on my wifes 4runner and she has been pretty happy with the ride.

So considering the below options, which would you recommend:

A. Purchasing the Icon Stage 1 lift and install the AEV brackets to correct the front geometry. I would also strongly consider adjustable front and/or rear track bars to complement.

B. Use the brackets with another brand combo...open to recommendations.

C. Purchase the AEV kit 2.5" outright and sell the brackets for beer money for my buddy and me. TBD on the track bars, AEV doesn't mention they are necessary.

D. anything else...

thank you in advance

For what it’s worth I have the AEV 2.5” kit. I don’t have the brackets on because I like to play on rocks and they hang to low for my liking. I do recommend adjustable track bars. I used teraflex relocation kits but once the track bar bushings wear out I’ll be swapping in adjustable ones.

Go to a AEV dealer (off-road shop) naer you and they should be able to order parts from their kits as they have access to the dealer ordering which allows them to order replacements a-la-carte

Thanks for the responses! I never thought to go to the dealer for a piecemeal kit, good thinking.

That being said, is the general consensus that the AEV kit is favored over the Icon? No Icon fans out there?

I have done most of the tougher trails in Moab except BFE etc and have done the rubicon trail and the dusy ershim all on 35's in a JKUR with AEV geo brackets and never once touched them on a rock. Not saying it can't happen but I never did. when I bought my new JLUR I ordered the AEV 2.5 as soon as I got home. your front pumpkin and front lower control arm brackets hang much lower. the geo brackets lowest point is still over 14" ground clearance. they give a smoother ride and help with brake dive as well as help your driveshaft angle under articulation.

also if you are on FB there is an AEV owners classified group and people who upgrade to high capacity coils sell their coils there and some upgrade to the reservoir shocks so place a wtb post there.

Had the icon springs on our 2019. They rode great and gave about 3" of lift. No complaints. Running the metalcloak 3.5" springs on our 2022 as we needed the extra clearance for 39s. The 2022 got metalcloak drop brackets and even running 9 rated trails like John Bull and Holcomb creek they've never touched the rocks either. The improvements in on road handling, ride, and bump absorption are well worth the ground clearance in my opinion.
