I have a manual 2018 JLU Sport. It's all stock minus the 4" lift and 35s. When I hit the clutch to down shift or go into neutral 9 times out of 10 my rpms will almost bottom out then just about 1000 and then settle down. When I start it it will idle about 17000 ish. It will settle down if I give it time or I can pop the throttle and immediately drop to the normal 700. 1st to 2nd is ok. 2-3 can be a little weak(in my opinion). 3-4 is really weak and when I'm in 5th it will actually slow down even though I can have it floored. I've been told that it might have to do with the clutch recall. Before I beg and borrow to get a centerforce can anyone tell me if it's the clutch or not? I'm poor as hell and I can't spend $1500 just for hopes. This is my daily driver and I dont have anything else.
I think it would behoove you to post a video of the Jeep acting up. A quick 30 second long video would greatly help some the more experienced people here diagnose.

I also saw the post speaking on buying a $2200 clutch kit. IMHO, I would spend $1800 of that and have it regeared by a shop and wait for the Clutch recall to hit you and get a free replacement (if needed). I think you'll be in a much better position this way.

35’s on a 4” lift (which it isn’t) would look absolutely tiny. Nobody puts a 4” lift on a JL.
It's 4" taller than I sport. Thanks though

That looks normal. Your Jeep hasn’t had all the recalls done because you don’t have the gear indicator above the odometer. As suggested earlier put it in third and film the tach while you accelerate, put the pedal to the floor and record the tach.

Oh good catch Greg I remember the gear number showing up! Forgot about that after recall was done in 20-21.

Ah missed it, thought it was down at bottom but you have the different cluster also with mechanical gauges.

Based on everything I’ve read about the 6MT and driving my brothers, that is pretty normal. His is a 2021 and does the same thing. The lack of power is from big tires/6MT/and 3.4x gearing. I’d re gear. It’s the better option compared to returning stock, and RE gearing will give back the pep and use of your transmission, not to mention make life easier on the driveline altogether.

That’s great that you think that. Lift heights are nominal, it’s a 2.5” lift.
rubicons sit about 1.5" higher than a sport. so youre saying a mopar lift only lifts a rubicon by 1"? since it gives a sport 2.5" of lift.

keep in mind that he has Sport fenders which sit at least .5" lower than Rubicon fenders, if not more. so theyre hiding more of the gap than Rubi fenders would. making it appear like its sitting lower than it is.
