Is there an adaptor/transformer I can use to run a battery-connector equipped portable compressor off house current? For occasional house current use. thanks

Voltage, not current ?

The power supply posted above would work as long as the full load amps of the compressor doesn't exceed 10 amps.

Otherwise find out what the FLA is of the compressor and Google search 12vdc power supply "x" amps

Thanks, good info.
This looks like it works if the compressor uses the cigarette lighter, but my compressor used regular cables to the battery terminals. I'm guessing there is a version of this that can take terminal cables.

The compressor is ARB's portable version of their twin compressor. Don't know its FLA that but will look up the specs.

Will need to find a "12vdc power supply x amps" that also takes terminal cables or can be adapted for that.

Technically speaking No, you can not transform A/C to D/C. But you can rectify it. You can build one yourself if you can’t find anyone offering the capacity you need. I’d recommend buying a small 5hp 230v single phase 120v A/C compressor for you house though. That D/C compressor pulls more than you’d think, and most likely the published amp draw isn’t considering the service factor amps that a compressor will pull near then end of its load. So I’d recommend checking your amp draw at whatever your final psi is before continuing the project.

The 12v version of the twin ARB compressor shows it pulls 50amps under load (28amps no load), so that's 600watts I think. That seems doable even with the end of load increase of amps you mention(?).

Would good good to know if anyone else has wanted to do this --use a rectifier for a portable D/C compressor like this so you can plug it into wall power at home. I would only do that rarely, since most of my need for the compressor would be out and about where I need it to run off the Jeep.

If I needed a compressor more often at home, I'd get a small one as you describe. Probably will eventually. Right now not getting one is part of the $ proposition/justification for upgrading my compressor in the Jeep from the cheapie one I had ;-)

I think you’d be better off just buying a small 110v compressor for home use. Pretty well guarantee that a 110 v unit will outperform a 12 volt-more air, quicker, and at higher pressure. The unit you have is great to carry in the rig, but will struggle to perform at the same level as a decent 110 v compressor

You can always use a trickle charger and a car battery, allows you to move it around without needing a cord for use too :like:
