@C.Sco, were you able to resolve the issue with the new wide-angle front cam?

Thanks for the followup! Unfortunately I haven't had any time to spend on the Jeep in a while and probably won't get any time for a few more weeks :(

@RubiDukkie I was going over the PDF you made for installing the cameras. I noticed that you tapped into the aux 4 switch. Are you actually using the switch? I know there is also a fused battery and ignition wire in that same bundle and trying to figure out if those would work as well.

I'm using both the AUX and the BATTERY. I use the AUX4 to turn on/off the camera system & monitor. The battery wire just provides a trickle of power to retain the the video interface configuration settings (yellow wire), otherwise it would reset to the defaults every time you power off the camera system. I have my Midland GMRS radio pigtailed into the battery power as well, hence the reference in the diagram.

That makes sense. Thanks!

So I found the issue yesterday!

Playing around with the DVR settings using the remote, trying different input signal settings, I realized the front camera is using CVBS by default (blue wire loop connected), and it worked when I set the DVR to CVBS (but then the other 3 cameras turned to static). So I guess I was incorrect in assuming the blue wire connected meant it was in AHD mode, so I need to cut that blue wire after all, to make that camera use AHD instead of CVBS. Don't have my Jeep today but I'm going to try that soon, pretty confident that should resolve my issue, now that I know the camera itself is good.

Side note, I'm very happy you recommended that front camera, it's a huge upgrade over the camera it originally came with!

How do you like the sun shield? I think I got one too but I didn't ever end up trying it out, so far sun glare hasn't really been an issue
BTW, had to put the sun shield on yesterday while doing the Sevenmile Rim trail in Moab. It definitely helped. For those with darker window tint than mine, it wouldn’t be an issue.

So I finally got to drive my Jeep again, and can happily report that the front cam is all good now, snipping the blue wire did the trick 👍

Curious what video settings you have been using for the Echomaster AHD monitor. So far I have found the following work best for me:

Right now it is....

Brightness: 30
Contrast: 65
Saturation: 67

But I am still playing with it.
