How to disassemble side-view mirrors?

Planning to install some puddle lamps and side-lighting. Before I start trying to pry the thing apart, I figured I'd check if anyone's cracked them open before and would be willing to share some tips.

Resurrecting this old one - I’m interested in a similar mod. Anyone get around to seeing how the inside of the mirror housings are structured, and how best to wire aux lighting through the oem mirror harness?

Found the pics. I didn't document it very well, but I had to drill at least one hole in the mirror base to pass the wires through. I installed downward rock lights and side mounted spreaders/strobe lights.

Nice work! Thanks for sharing those - So the bolts and wires don’t get in the way at all with the power mirror adjust mechanism? I’m thinking of using some Baja S2’s...which lights did you go with?

It's much better just to buy original Mopar euro-spec Cap and Light - costs about $35 per each.
To disassemble the mirror (JL) you need only 2 flat sticks - move mirror-glass left (or right) to get access to next mounts (you can see them and manipulate).

I live in Japan. My Wrangler's side mirrors are not working properly.
Can someone please tell me how to take the side mirrors apart to replace the cameras?
I was able to remove the doors and mirrors.
I don't know what to do after that.
Do you know how to disassemble the arm that holds the mirror?
