In my experience working on the jl four years now, there’s no typical length of time…….. I replaced mine at 5k, preemptively,( I was in the process of ditching all the oem front end suspension ) and they were showing wear…...Just wondering how long OEM ball joints typically last? The ball joints on all models are the same correct? Also, how should they be properly maintained?
Thanks,
Do you re grease them every oil change? In my experience working on the jl four years now, there’s no typical length of time…….. I replaced mine at 5k, preemptively,( I was in the process of ditching all the oem front end suspension ) and they were showing wear…...
I’ve installed several sets of ball joints, and
have seen them toast after 10k, and seen them ok at 40K+. Tire size and how you use it definitely is a determining factor.
Best thing to do is just keep an eye on them, check them at each oil change, takes just a few minutes……..
No, I usually hit all my grease fittings about 3 times a year ish…… not really as regimented as oil changes…….Do you re grease them every oil change?
What kind of grease and how do you grease it exactly? I’ve got 52k miles and ko2 34.4s, jacked it up and didn’t get any movement - kind of shocked because I do beat on the car a bitNo, I usually hit all my grease fittings about 3 times a year ish…… not really as regimented as oil changes…….

# 1 myth, it's not the weight of the wheel tire, it's the weight of the vehicle. Back space and spacers add more leverage to wear them out much faster, just ask the banned pony tail.~20-25k maximum if you wheel it and/or run a heavy wheel and tire.
35's with Vision Nemesis wheels. Are those 35s and mr305 wheels you got?
