I placed an order on 6/19. It turns out that it wasn't as good of a deal as I initially thought it was. It is already showing in D1 status. Is it too late to cancel the order? My dealer says that it is. From what I have seen on here, people have cancelled a lot farther out that what I tried to do (two days after ordering). No money has exchanged hands yet. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

If indeed no money has changed hands, walking will cost you nothing but perhaps your relationship with this dealer, who it sound like you won't use again anyway. Nothing about the Purchase Order Contract is binding, and they can sell the jeep to whomever they choose once it comes in.
If there is a deposit, and they refuse to give your deposit back, contact Jeep Cares, threaten a social media campaign concerning their practices and demand to speak to the general sales manager. 99% of all auto deposits are legally refundable, even when the deposit language says they're not. Consult the internet concerning laws in your state before asking for your deposit back.
You are never required by any law to purchase a factory ordered vehicle, which is why they don't make you pay in full prior to the order.

My son just canceled an order as it was the same as you and then made a new order, had to push a bit to get them to cancel but got it done with no loss

I had to put $500 down, which I thought was low. I asked how I'd get my money back if the Jeep wasn't to my satisfaction or if they f*ckd me over on the original trade offer and quoted price. They told me they would keep the $500 until the Jeep sold. I don't know if that is standard or ethical but I figured I if I canceled, the Jeep would fly off the lot in less that 3 days anyway.

To be clear, I don't think it is possible to cancel an order. Once the order is placed the Jeep gets built. What you are really doing is walking away from an order. Which usually is not a big deal because pretty much any Jeep sells. The only thing that is at risk is the deposit if it is not refundable.

Call the dealership and say I am out. No deposit, no loss. Also without a deposit they could just sell your "order" and you wouldn't have any recourse.

I was told by my dealer when I originally placed the order that if you are building a Jeep that they can sell if you don't like it or change your mind when it arrives they typically will not make you put down a deposit. I did not have to put one down so if at the end of the day I change my mind or don't like something about it I can walk and they can sell the vehicle to the next person that comes in asking about it. If you didn't put down a deposit IMO you are free and clear to walk and if they harass you about it go to another dealer to put in your next order.
