The carrier plate was sourced from a small, 12-unit production run arranged by a fellow Jeep owner. I snagged the last one. The Rotopax mount, which I purchased on Amazon, uses pre-drilled holes in the plate.

Not visible are the 3 double-female lug extensions that use the spare tire's studs for proper retention.

That looks great. If they ever make any more, please keep me in mind via PM.

I never thought it was worth bothering with, especially gasoline. Even in Alaska fuel stations are pretty much within reach even the Dalton highway is couple hundred miles between fuel. Well within reach.

But just my opinion.
If running the Dempster highway in Canada, once you start it is 225 miles to Eagle Plains, the first place to get gas. And they call it a "highway", but really it is a gravel road with pretty much nothing till Eagle Plains. You won't be getting your usual mpg, and worse if it is wet/muddy. You're smart to carry some extra fuel. Even just 5 gallons at 15mpg = 75 additional miles.

If overlanding a 2-door, I'd recommend a small trailer with additional gas cans. Trailer has two 2.5 gallon jerries, and one 4 gallon Kolpin (between the trailer tub and cooler). TJ has a 5 gallon Jerry on the swing out spare tire carrier.

I like the looks of the trailrax system. Doesn’t extend past the fender flairs, doesn't block your view out the rear view, isn’t in the way, etc. It is no fun being in the middle of nowhere and stressing about having enough fuel to get to the next fuel station. Two 4 gallon rotopax at 15mpg = 120 more miles. It is called "peace of mind".
