What is the largest tire can I put on a 2019 Sport S with factory rims and not have ANY wheel poke? No lift, for overlanding only. Meaning "back roading" not "off roading".

Most I’ve seen is a 285/75/17 which is a 33. You may need to remove the euro guards between bumper and fender.

Tiresize.com will help you to envision how big of a tire. Take a look at the “wheel offset calculator”.... it will allow you to see your current tire vs your new tire and you can see how far it sticks out. Measure how much your current tire is inside the fender and you will be able to see where the new tires sit in relation to the fender.

All stock JL's except the sahara come with 17x7.5" wide wheels with 6.1 backspacing. The only exception is the sahara that comes with 18x7.5 wheels with the same 6.1 backspacing.
I have ran stock rubicon takeoff 285/70/17 ko2's on my sport for 6 months previously and they didn't rub much until I flexed it with swaybar disconnected wheelin. Those tires are great on a sport for backroads and street driving...I wouldnt go any bigger.

I am thinking about putting on the BFG KO2 34 X10.50R17 D (33.5 actual OD x 10.5 width, 55 lbs) - no lift or spacers, I hope. I like the KO2's and am looking to stay with them, thus sizes are a bit limited.
By my reckoning from others here saying they have 285/70/17 ko2's no problem (32.7 x 11.2), and that claimed 285/75/17 size (33.8 x 11.2), I think I should be OK with my extra diameter, but keeping a narrower width (should keep the "no-poke" issue good, as well as minimize issues with interior rubbing from the wider size options).
Eventually I intend to swap Rubi springs which should give me a slight effective lift anyway, but I THINK I should be OK with stock and no meaningful off-roading.
Anyone see a flaw in that logic?
I suggest to the OP look closely at the tire size charts - in my frustrating ignorance of this subject I learned a great deal that "33's" aren't really 33 inches, nor are "34's" or "35's" right on what their nickname implies. The perception or definition seems to be a bit fluid - the "rounding" of numbers one might expect does not seem to be applied consistently, and varies also by brand. (note that the "34X10.50R17" are called "34's" at only 33.5 diameter, whilst the "285/75/17" are called "33's" though they are bigger at 33.8 diameter than the 34 X10.50R17 - go figure!)

I went with a 255/75/17 Duratrac, not as big as possible but rides well, good mileage and looks better than the original. Pretty happy with it.
