Homelink options?

I only have one garage door opener at my domicile. That means I have 2 free Homelink buttons on my visor.
Has anyone come up with creative uses for homelink? Opening a gate, operating lights etc.

Remember, when doing the programming, the JL's ignition has to be set to run, but the vehicle not started...

I set my visor buttons up but rarely use the visor buttons anymore...

I have a few garage doors / different locales..

Anyway, these days I just say out loud "OK Google , open xxxxx Garage Door" or say "Alexa open xxxxxx Garage door". I then get asked a 4 digit code that I spew out loud and the specific garage door opens.

I watched this video, then went and programmed my new garage door openers (and we're talking yesterday, 10 June 2024 with a 23 JLU Willys XR). I followed the video exactly, and since I have the newer type garage door openers, I had to do the additional steps at the end of the video.

Do EXACTLY what and how the video tells you to do it. Let us know how it works.

Our new rental house has a MyQ garage door opener and it's the biggest hunk of "smart" junk I've ever come across. Doesn't integrate with any normal system, but the app *constantly* harasses you to set up Amazon Key - like I'm going to give a stranger direct access to my garage, lol.

I miss my Meross adapter. We're only in this rental for ~12 months and then I'll definitely go back to Meross.

I really like that I can look at the Meross app, the Smartthings app or just ask Google or Alexa if garage is open or closed. Also it a plus you can open dooe from say another state, while driving, etc., if say a family member needs into the garage or a say a trusted delivery person.

Yeah I'm using 2 Meross units but with Homekit and they work very well until the internet connection goes out then it's an issue.

Apple just announced there will be an AI component in the next version of Siri. Presumably it will transform Siri from an idiot to a average garden-variety dope. Quite a step up I'd say.

Like an actual echo unit feeding off the Jeep WiFi? I can control things through UConnect but no voice commands. Curious as to your setup.
