my first button broke. after a brief search, this doesn’t appear to be a common thing. has anyone else experienced this? button is depressed and stuck on a slant. I think it’s broken for good. I tried gently popping it out with a pic however, this didn’t work. Any suggestions? Looks like a new set up is $300. it’s not always activating. I can still press it and use it to open and close the garage door with a little gymnastics/finesse. thanks for any help!

There's a connector for the visor Homelink buttons. It's been a few years now, but it seems like it was up in the trim covers on the roll bar. Look at this thread from a few years ago. It shows the R&R of the visor.

The buttons are simple momentary contact switches. Since the visor is molded around all that, It's unlikely you can change the switch. You're options are limited. You can either replace the visor or tap into the harness at that connector and add your own switches.

I found this video. A Ford, but seems like the Homelink unit is generic across a lot of vehicles.

My number 1 button is as you described. I just changed to number 2 and play like it never happened.
