High Pressure oil pump hack...?

As I understand it, the solenoid failure mode on our 2-stage oil pumps is to the high pressure mode. So let's say a person wanted to boost low engine speed oil pressures, you know, to help prevent oil-related cam & rocker failures. Would cutting the power to the oil pump solenoid be effective in doing that?

If you run high oil pressure at low RPM’s, you activate high lift mode on the intake valves; doubt that would work well.

That is controlled by a completely different set of solenoid valves.

youll get a cel but not an oil pressure light. i think the vvl defaults to high lift mode as well

So... If one were to route that solenoid wire through an auxiliary switch, one would have instant-on high oil pressure, replete with an indicator light...?

That would be fun as well, but of limited utility.

When ones oil pressure sensor behind the oil cooler fails, the pump remains in high pressure mode. How do I know that, is because it happened to mine.
