I ordered my JLU on March 9, 2018 received a vin number on March 22, 2018 and all I have heard is it is delayed. The dealer told me on the last week of March it was on the train. Then the next I heard it was delayed until end of April. Next thing I heard it has left Ottawa and was going to be in Arizona on May 14, 2018. Now the dealer is telling me maybe at the end of May 2018. The train takes 8 weeks to go from Ohio to Az ( I can ride a bicycle faster than that). Talked to dealer and he told me they don't get status codes, only transit delivery dates. I want to know from Jeep what is going on here. Why is this taking so long. Are there issues with the builds where they have to be fixed. I am a long time Jeep owner and this is the worst order process I have bee through

Anyone discussed how slow/laggy the 5” uconnect is?

It’s absurd to me that my $37,000 vehicle has this issue.

So I can just share my story- I ordered a JLUR with dual tops. I was put into the Ottawa lot because the soft top shortage. Other Jeeps that were ordered after mine were being built and delivered with dual tops, or soft tops while mine sat and was just waiting. I too like you was worried that is was something wrong with the batch of Jeeps. I finally had my father (retired judge but still can practice law) call the dealer and essentially light a fire under their @$$. One week later my Jeep showed up but was still missing the soft top. So it was not anything wrong with the Jeeps in that lot it is just Jeep is trying to keep their heads above water- like a month ago Jeep sold 30,000 Wranglers, that is the highest ever and almost as many as the Camry. I think Jeep is just turning out as many as they can and shipping them out to customers and when there is time, space and resources they are putting the Jeeps from the other locations on the train and sending those out too. So good news I do not think it is anything wrong with your Jeep, bad news is that FCA is totally and utterly incompetent. I would expect this out of Tesla but not FCA. It is unacceptable, and if it weren't for the fact that there is no competition for Jeep I think it would hurt them, but at the end of the day where are you going to go to find a 4 door off road beast that can be a convertible and take the doors off?

BTW- I am still waiting for my soft top @JeepCares , there is no new development. I ordered my Jeep in January and I got it on 5-4, over 3 months after I ordered it, still missing the soft top. If I were to have ordered it in March, or April I would probably already be cruising around in my Jeep with the option of having a hardtop or soft top... Totally unreal.

Lastly- it is totally worth the wait! The new JLUR are amazing! Like nothing else I have ever driven, and I have owned about 15 Jeeps in my life!

Great idea. And I hope you guys are looking at the cooling fan noise. Turning off my AC so I can use a drive thru isn't something I thought I would have to do in any vehicle. But it's so loud I have to. And since I live in Phoenix, it's a pretty big deal.
Wonder if its just a noisy fan or the engine is generating too much heat. Wheeling in the desert I would imagine it would be running all day.

@JeepCares I live in the mid-Atlantic and I frequently get weather alerts on my screen while driving that are not only irrelevant to me, but they remain on and block my screen until I physically reach over to make them go away. I called Jeep, which referred me to Sirius. At first they said this feature can't be removed, then said they did it. They didn't. It's still happening. After searching online I've learned this has been a known problem with FCA vehicles for over a year. It is absurd to me that Jeep would have/allow a Uconnect feature that randomly blocks the screen while driving until it is manually overridden. It is completely incomprehensible that Jeep would do nothing about it for a year, the simplest solution being an option to deactivate weather alerts. Please tell me you have a solution

The Tazer programmer can shut that off.

Thanks. If I hadn't already paid the dealer to reprogram the speedo for my 35s, this would have actually been a good solution. At this point, hoping to not fork out a bunch more money for a problem they caused.

Any way you can let us know if there is a transportation delay going on right now? There are around 30 fellas on here who have been KZ for a bit and haven't shipped.

I have been sitting between I status and JS status for a week now. VIN 1C4HJXFG9JW134842

Jeep.com chat has proven itself to be practically useless for information.
I had my vin number JLU Rubicon on March 22 and few days later dealer said it was on the train. Then they said I would get it at end of April, then it was May 14 and now its pushed out to June 1. Dealer told me it was Rubicon's and he could not even get his own orders for the Dealership and three of us that ordered Rubicons. Dealer told they don't know where the Jeeps are. Why can't Chrysler tell the dealer where these are? Is there something that had to be fixed on these Jeeps? Are they really lost. It will be time to order a 2019 soon . Bad customer service

This is a shot in the dark but it is possible your JL left Toledo but was then stopped along the way. There are a few locations where JLs are off-loaded to switch carriers. There have been several known safety concerns arising lately, like steering locking-up while driving (for example), and your JL maybe awaiting an additional inspection or worst case does have an issue and is waiting for the fix before delivery. FCA has not been publicly acknowledging these issues but owners are reporting them to federal regulators. FCA has been swapping delivered JLs for new ones so they can take the affected vehicles back to their engineers.

Hello at @JeepCares , I left a private message asking if you could help me with the status of my order. Your team must be busy, I haven't received a reply. I hope to hear from you...
Thanks

I can't believe that FCA has so many issues with the JL . Steering, park brake recall and I heard about the weld issues on the front end. I am really evaluating whether I made the correct purchase. I have owned two jeeps before (97 Cherokee 299K miles and I currently have a 2004 Grand Cherokee with 127K miles). Both of these cars went well over 100K miles with no apparent mechanical issues. Now I am waiting for a 2018 with all kinds of issues. For a vehicle that was built partly through robotics and supposedly went through QC, this is ridiculous . The managers of that plant should be fired.

When you bought the last two Jeeps, you weren’t hearing about every single issue. The internet and this forum are great, but also can skew perception.

How many JL’s have been produced so far? Of those, how many have an issue? (Not very many.)

Go peruse a Toyota forum, or a Raptor forum. SSDD.

The NHTSA which is located in New Jersey has been tracking and working with car manufactures and customers since 1970 in regards to recalls etc. There are many issues being tracked by this agency going back to 1970. They provide a service to both the manufacturer and the customer. So yes issues have been tracked way before my last two vehicles . I know because I worked for a few dealerships in NJ in the late 70's. You should review their web site

4300 miles. Early build. Still no issues. LOTS of them out there with no issues. An internet forum doesn't tell the real story. JD Powers will, later in the year.
