I can't believe that FCA has so many issues with the JL . Steering, park brake recall and I heard about the weld issues on the front end. I am really evaluating whether I made the correct purchase. I have owned two jeeps before (97 Cherokee 299K miles and I currently have a 2004 Grand Cherokee with 127K miles). Both of these cars went well over 100K miles with no apparent mechanical issues. Now I am waiting for a 2018 with all kinds of issues. For a vehicle that was built partly through robotics and supposedly went through QC, this is ridiculous . The managers of that plant should be fired.
One recall. The rest is anecdotal. I would say it is much better than i expected.

One recall. The rest is anecdotal. I would say it is much better than i expected.
I truly believe forums contribute to hysteria. Sure, I’m not discounting their issues, not at all. I truly believe it is a speck on the radar, but within this atmosphere, it appears much larger than it really is:)

The NHTSA which is located in New Jersey has been tracking and working with car manufactures and customers since 1970 in regards to recalls etc. There are many issues being tracked by this agency going back to 1970. They provide a service to both the manufacturer and the customer. So yes issues have been tracked way before my last two vehicles . I know because I worked for a few dealerships in NJ in the late 70's. You should review their web site
I have reviewed NHTSA. 1 recall, 19 complaints. FCA makes, what, 30k Wranglers per month? I don’t see any reason to panic.

I agree with this. I was super stressed when my Jeep was sitting in a lot for 2 months with no information. I assumed it was bad welds or some major problem. But it was just a missing soft top. Everything has been 100% perfect so far.

I agree with this. I was super stressed when my Jeep was sitting in a lot for 2 months with no information. I assumed it was bad welds or some major problem. But it was just a missing soft top. Everything has been 100% perfect so far.

WTF?! You originally ordered before me, any updates? What is Jeep going to do to make it right?

I got an upgrade to 5/60k bumper to bumper warranty for free. It is better than nothing.
I also got mine sent without the soft top and the soft top will come later. If I remember right you did dual top right? Mine literally did not move until I had a lawyer (happen to be my dad.. lol) call the dealer.

I could take the second order, but it has been sitting for months in a lot. That doesn’t interest me. I’ll be patient and wait for my third order.
So was mine, built on Valentine's day and picked up on Cinco de Mayo.. (it's a festive Jeep) and I haven't had any problems at all. Loving every single second. Just worth considering.

@JeepCares I live in the mid-Atlantic and I frequently get weather alerts on my screen while driving that are not only irrelevant to me, but they remain on and block my screen until I physically reach over to make them go away. I called Jeep, which referred me to Sirius. At first they said this feature can't be removed, then said they did it. They didn't. It's still happening. After searching online I've learned this has been a known problem with FCA vehicles for over a year. It is absurd to me that Jeep would have/allow a Uconnect feature that randomly blocks the screen while driving until it is manually overridden. It is completely incomprehensible that Jeep would do nothing about it for a year, the simplest solution being an option to deactivate weather alerts. Please tell me you have a solution

You have to DM them. They will not tell you anything else different than Jeep Chat does. I would recommend calling the toll free number for Wrangler owners, they were the best resource for me while I was waiting.
