@Madtom yes that is the can connector that goes in the white block under the glovebox. It connects to the control module under the steering wheel. I finally got the seat pads and jumper harness for under the seats and put them in last weekend, they are a great addition.
Gregj
Thanks. If the used harness I ordered is missing these parts/connectors I may need to get a couple to make a cable from the heated seats and steering wheel controller over to the canbus.

Did you use JSCAN or dealer flashing the codes(JPM,NHS) to add the seat heat function?

I'm probably gonna add the seat heat first as I am still looking for a used Rubicon heated wheel that isn't over 300$.

Currently waiting for the wiring to get here to start all of this. My first military job was aircraft electrician way back in the 80s so harnesses are easy, just takes patience.

You only need the one connector if it is not in the harness that you get. The other end connects to the module in connector #4 IIRC. I use JScan for pretty much everything, just be sure to add the module to the can network and the controls show up in the radio too. It’s the CSWM module in the cabin network.

edit: the can bus wires go to C1 on the heated seats module.

If I understand correctly, if you have a the HVAC control Unit, a set of OEM Heated Leather Seats, get the correct harnesses from Mopar, it should be play and play?

Well, not exactly. With the parts you have listed you still need the heated seat control module and the wires to connect it. Your dash harness won’t have the wires and connectors for the module. Rick, @RAMSTEEL bought a dash harness and dug out the wires needed, I built the harness needed and posted pictures of it above. I used the spreadsheet posted by Rick to build it.

Getting seats with the heaters in them already saves the work of stripping seats to add the pads.

Ok found a used heated wheel from a 2020 Sahara.... the connector for the heated steering is only those two pins.
I found a steering column switch (matching my options + added heated wheel) with the heated steering wheel option
i found a donor dash harness with heated seats and steering wheel to include all of the connectors going to the seat and steering wheel module and the can bus. Unwrapping the connectors i need to extract the wires i need to add to mine.

Thanks for all the effort on building the knowledge pool.

How hard is it to pull the pins from the connectors? still digging the wrap off the harness and haven't pinned everything out yet. Tagging the wires as I go the Steering wheel may be the easiest goal to achieve but will have it laid out for the seat heat too...still awaiting the harnesses for that part ;)

Do you have a picture of the connectors that are mated between the seat harness and dash harness? Since I don't have the replacement ones yet not sure what I am looking for. there is a lot of unwrapping to make this happen lol.

The seat heat wires are going to go to these connectors in the drivers side kick panel, the power for the system will come from the same connector in the passenger side kick panel.

most of the wires are in the white connector, that is XY315A. The black one above it is XY301A

Most of the wires go in the top row of small wires, the orange wire is in 21, the pink wire is in 20, the wires you will add are IIRC 15 to 19

Pry out that red terminal lock and use a straight pin or sewing needle to lift the lock and pull the little white cavity plug out the backside and insert the wire till it seats

that is the little plug that is in the connector (sometimes it is a brown wire that is a couple inches long that goes nowhere)

Thank you that really helps. Now I know which ones to start pulling on the donor harness.

I found pin outs and wiring colors/destinations on https://connectorrepairkit.mopar.com just look up year and which vehicle platform and then scroll down to get to the right connector. it shows diagrams for male and female plug ends and lists the repair kits.... . pulling everything and labeling for the add in harness before i start adding wires. Thanks again.

Donor harness served it's purpose. Finished up the piggyback harness for the seat n steering wheel.
Jeep Wrangler JL Heated Steering Wheel - It can be done. 1000220788

still on the list of things to finish.
1. awaiting sensors so I can do the HVAC mod.
2. install this harness.
3. install seat elements.
4. install seat wiring harnesses.
5. install new clock spring and heated wheel.
6. put the new center stack in.
7. JScan heater and HVAC single zone settings to turn on system.

Looks good! If you enable them and add the CSWM module to the cabin network you can control them from the radio without the HVAC control. That’s what I’m doing because the HVAC control I bought is from an automatic and also has the button for the Park Sense, my Jeep is a 6 speed and I don’t have Park Sense. I dislike useless buttons ?‍♂

For the 2018 there are two PN that might be the one you are looking for. I think X81 is the factory base code that all jeeps have added.

Codes related to center stack( I think this captures the earlier years..... Hill Descent was swapped out for something else later)
BNH Hill Descent
BNB Electronic Stability control
GFA Rear Defrost
GTB Defrost mirrors
HAA HVAC Manual
HAB HVAC Auto
JPM Heated Seats
NHS Heated Steering wheel
RTF Radio volume/mute and tuning
XAA Parking Assist

for the 2018s these were the 2 # that had similar codes to what you have.
6BE26DX9AC Center Stack
Part Description
Control
  • [X81], [HAB], [RTF], [JPM], [NHS], [BNH], [GFA] AND/OR [GTB]

6BE30DX9AC Center Stack
Part Description
Control
  • [X81], [HAB], [RTF], [JPM], [NHS], [GFA] AND/OR [GTB]

For my 2020 this was the one i needed/purchased

I had to get that one for the Boss Lady’s Jeep, I’ll probably never install the one I got for mine and just use the controls in the radio.

ok update .
1. Sensors installed and HVAC mod sensors installed. harness was there so pop out and replace correct sun sensor, install temp sensor to existing harness.
2. piggy back harness Installed in dash. hardest part was wiggling harness from left to right side of dash behind center stack and going around glovebox. since I labeled all the wires was easy to put them into connectors one at a time
3. installed new clock spring and heated wheel and added the wires to the steering heat.
4. put the new center stack in .
5. reconnected batteries.
6. JScanned everything to turn it on.
7. drove it around to confirm no problems , no extra lights.
8. HVAC showed up on 7 inch u connect after 3-4 cycles.

no heated seats yet waiting on more parts... but everything is there . heated Steering wheel is a big hit .

did heated seats and steering icons eventually show up on Uconnect for others? now just to wait for the last parts for the seats and to install them later ?

If you added the CSWM to the cabin network the icons show up when the radio is booting up and then they are in the “controls” icon with the backup camera. Click on apps and they will show up individually also.

I added the CSWM to the cabin network last night and that was when it (heated wheel, seat lights) started working in the center stack. Of course the seats go out after a few seconds right now as the elements/circuit to the seats are still missing.

What i didn't know was there was additional settings in the miscellaneous setting(in HVAC configuration and more) Front heated Seats Present and Heated Steering Wheel Present. Once I turned those options and the next time i fired it up the uconnect head unit had the icons and the ability to turn seat steering controls off and on.
