I'd like to install my Diode Dynamics headlights, but I don't have a garage so this will be a driveway install. From reading the forum, I'm already a bit nervous since it looks to be somewhat tricky, possibly needing fender and/or liner removal to access factory signal connectors.

It looks like I'll need to remove the entire housing to adjust the beams -- see screenie from their video below. But since I'm in a driveway, how am I supposed to aim the lights? Do I drive to a random wall with grill and who-knows-what disassembled to aim?

I used to aim my headlights while driving. Set them up shining against any wall I could find.

Carry the necessary tools for fine adjustment with me for a week or so and adjust on the fly based on if people flash me or not.

If you have a second vehicle, line up both vehicles next to each other and try to match your Jeep to the other vehicle. Have both pointing at a tree or telephone pole a little ways away so that you have a mark to aim for.

The less scientific approach is to drive around and keep on adjusting the beams until the cutoff is below the side mirrors/rear window of the cars around you.

Ah, right -- this makes sense, thanks.

If I didn't have to remove the grill and entire headlight to adjust, this would be much simpler.

If your vehicle is stock, there's a very high possibility that you do not need to adjust anything once the lights are installed.

I didn't realize it was that terrible.

Older cars had adjustment screws accessible from the front with a screwdriver.
Even my 2007 Volvo had thumb screws easily accessible with the hood open.
