I'm relatively new to 4x4 trails and want to go out on a 1,000 mile one-way road trip this summer to get in some trail time. I obviously don't want to road trip it with the doors and top off. So for you guys that road trip it out to the trails and then want to take everything off, how do you store your hard tops and doors? Or am I just out of luck and should be content with removing the Freedom Panels and rolling the windows down?

I think you're out of luck. That's why I have a soft top. I can take the windows out and throw the top back whenever I want.

Did you get the freedom panel storage bags? they come with a strap where you can stand them up against the back seat in the bag. I have it but have never used it in that capacity as I'm usually not far from home/I just lay the bag w/ tops down as my seats are always folded for my doggo.

As far as doors I think you might be SOL. I did see someone at a jeep event that stored his doors on a custom rack that mounted to a hitch, but it was from a distance/I never talked to him about it so I'm assuming it's custom as I've never seen anything like that on any parts site. We were just driving on the beach so it was easy But that's not exactly practical for trail use as it'd be bumping around significantly and depending on what trail riding you're doing even scrape the rack and put the doors at risk.

Not an easy find/cheap solution but also if you found someone with half doors for sale, that'd be the closest you could get.

Easier and relatively cheaper (about 1/4 as expensive) than half doors, you could also buy a soft top and swap it out if you have a place to store the hard top, though I see you're in Tx so not really a practical reason to swap out. I swap in winter for snow etc.

If ya go fancy and get an Airbnb with a garage you could leave em in there while you are out having fun. Maybe bring a couple of the Harbor Freight moving blankets to lean or lay down the doors?

There was a device in the JK days that could be transported inside the vehicle, assembled on site, and via, I think turnbuckles that tightened, served as a ground based hoist for the hard top that sat of both driver and passenger's sides in the rear, that would allow the driver to then drive off, leaving the hard top in the place the vehicle was last parked.

Then there's the Jeff Scherb way https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/hardtop-summer-storage.44894/#post-988733

Then there's this guy

..surprised noboby has created a hitch based way of doing this.....
