Here’s what I don’t understand is why the rear quarter windows don’t pop out on the hard top like they do on the SOT top. I love the SOT top for many reasons over the hardtop and side windows coming off easily is definitely one.

Two door Wranglers get no love from Stellantis. Heritage be damned.

It could be for structural integrity of the hard top. Those are relatively big windows, and I'd imagine they provide some not-insignificant structure to the top, both while on the Jeep and once removed. The top of the hard top doesn't actually touch anything while installed.

The SOT doesn't need this additional structural stability because it's built/designed differently.

Back in the 80s, dodge vans had pop out rear side windows, outstanding feature. 2024, no one can figure out how to do it on a JL 2 door with AI and lunar landers that tip over. You kids….

someone come out with an electric pop out rear window, I’ll buy it.

Do the window guards create extra interiour noise on high winds / high speeds?
Are you still happy with the product after few years now... ?
Thanks
No noise. In fact, door windows can be closed or cracked open a little with the sliding windows open. No buffeting. Probably quieter than the open window next to my head if I did not have the sliding window option.

Completely happy.

For anyone installing, the guards are probably easier to install working on a table/bench vs installed. Then getting holes center punched, drilled, and tapped is less precarious. I did not realize I was going to buy the guards. Or my irresponsible self convinced my bill paying self not to worry, the money would be spent in a future upgrade. In any case, it's nice to have the temperature lessened on a hot day without risk of losing any contents.

The guards are optional.

Does anybody have the dimensions for the factory 2 door side windows handy by any chance?

I don't have a factory hard top and have no idea if the windows are the same or not...So if anybody has measurements they could share that would be awesome.
