Would like someone to set me straight on a few things.

Working on a 2018 JLU that came from the factory with halogen lighting. Replaced the front bumper with one from a 2022 Rubicon that had LED fog lights. They worked great so I did not have anything reprogrammed. Now they have stopped working and I gather by some other posts that I likely ruined the lights. I also replaced the halogen headlight bulbs with BeamTech LED bulbs still using the factory housings. The headlights work great but am now wondering if I need to go to the dealer and have the computer reprogrammed?
What do you do is you have a mixture of say LED headlights but conventional turn signals and fog lights? Do all the lights need to be of the same technology or does the programming allow for a mixed setup?

Seems stupid to me that simple things lights lights need to be controlled by the computer in the first place but we can’t change that I assume.

You should buy a JL Tazer and do it yourself and it will save you for many dealer trips for reprogramming.
I’m running LED bulbs in my JL and so far no issues.
I had tried LED OEM DRL fender/ turn signal lights and even after programming with Tazer I had issue with my rear side markers going in and out. But mine is a base sports. If I install a LED headlight or fog light assembly, I’ll use Tazer to reprogram but for a bulb no, especially if it’s not giving any error.
I’m going to install some LED bulbs in
My dogs and I can post how it works.

The web site for the Tazer JL mini lists all the things it does. You can select various lights separately and tell the computer they are LED.

The Beamtech LED headlights are plug-and-play replacements for the halogens. I can't speak to the LED fog lights from the Rubicon bumper but I think you need to reprogram (dealer or using a Tazer or equivalent).

Would be surprised if the fogs went bad, LED fogs just need to enabled with a dealer flash or a Tazer

Does the Tazer need to remain plugged into the Jeep or is it just used to program the Jeep’s computer?

For enabling LED’s no, make the changes and unplug. The Tazer does have live features for which it must remain plugged I
