Cool. What kind of rock sliders are you running?

Was going to go with Alien but then they kinda went out of business or something so I just got a 2 piece black Shadeidea one, can't complainHas anyone bought a sunshade? Any recommendations? I was thinking of getting an Alien sunshade but I'm stuck between getting a one piece and two piece.
Not sure that’s the case. I bought one off Amazon that was a return and missing 2 of the plastic windshield clips so I messaged them on Facebook and they quickly sent me replacements. They seem to still be active there. Was going to go with Alien but then they kinda went out of business or something
I was just thinking.. wonder if I’m in the minority of people here? I have one ordered and have zero experience with them. I’ve never driven one and don’t recall ever even being in a JL. I’ve driven my boss’s JK and test drove one years ago but thought it was too small for me. For me it is also a mid-lifer toy but I don’t really feel like I’m in crisis mode yet..Thought I’d better order this thing now though while I can enjoy/afford it!Got the Jeep from Gupton yesterday evening, and in the spirit of this thread being more of an "after delivery" sharing of experiences, thought I would share an interesting "Gator Fact". When I eased out the clutch pedal and rolled past the line of Jeeps on the lot and turned right onto the 431, it was the first time in my life that I've driven a Jeep JL. Since my very first CJ-7 in 1983 I've driven almost every model of Jeep made, just for some odd reason since the rollout of the JL in 2018 I've never actually driven one.
If it’s going to be a daily driver, I think you’ll love the JL. So much more refined ride over previous Jeeps. In 2019 I finally decided I’d get a DD Jeep again (have a CJ but not a DD) and was looking at used JKU Rubicons. On a whim I decided to drive a JLU a local dealership had after driving a used JK and was blown away by the JL. It rode much smoother, stopped better, and the 2.0 turbo was much peppier than the JK V6. Plus the advertised mpg was way better than the JK. I was able to get a brand new JLU sport for cheaper than a 3 year old JK Rubi with almost 30k miles and never regretted the JL decision. Just wish I had ponied up for a rubicon vs the Sport at the time. So now I’ve sold that Sport and waiting on my ‘22 Rubi to deliver to Gupton. The JL’s aren’t without their faults and there have been some lemons out there but overall they are pretty refined for a DD Jeep.I was just thinking.. wonder if I’m in the minority of people here? The jeep will really be more of a toy to tinker with and road tripping vehicle with the kids. We've had a couple convertibles and enjoy the open air feel. No intention of it being a daily driver at this point. I can't justify getting rid of my truck - everybody needs one right? However, after 6 years the truck is getting booted from the garage. Had a day 1 bronco reservation and cancelled it as the roll out continued to flop.. JLU sport is what i landed on.. If I were replacing the truck I would have went rubicon and wonder if I may end up with one eventually. Time will tell..If it’s going to be a daily driver, I think you’ll love the JL. Sounds like you need to place another Gupton order and turn hubby into a Jeep guy.Well, I finally lowered my tire pressure, off the lot at 40 psi to now 36 psi. Wow, you guys were right, what a difference it makes in the ride and how the steering handles. My husband was telling me it wouldn’t make a difference, but he doesn’t drive a Jeep. Going forward, I only take Jeep advice from my fellow Jeepsters and not the hubby.

I went with Shadeidea because they had equally as good of reviews and it was on sale. Saved $33 over Alien shade. Just installed it. It was very easy. Only complaint is how low it sits but I'm sure it's the same for all two piece shades. Was going to go with Alien but then they kinda went out of business or something so I just got a 2 piece black Shadeidea one, can't complain
I’m working on it ?Sounds like you need to place another Gupton order and turn hubby into a Jeep guy.![]()
