The Dealership got back to me. No VIN. Just a “order Number” 8 digits. I called FCA Canada and a very polite lady told me there’s nothing she can do unless the dealer can get the VIN. They say there’s no VIN yet because the “cold weather package” is holding it up. I get it…I’m not mad..or upset. Just want to know if it will be winter or spring lmao
lies unless they are out of them

from my dealer today.

"Cory, I hope this email finds you well.
We have fantastic news!!
Your Wrangler has been scheduled to ship October 13th, this puts your vehicle here well ahead of schedule.
I will be in touch once we have confirmation that your Wrangler has begun its trip and give you enough time to prepare for pick up.

Have a fantastic day, we will talk very soon.

Thank you,"

also not sure but all the links where you input the vin don't work at all for me.. crypto only shows a window sticker found but no build.

I don't trust any of those sources now. my dealer has been the best source.

I would make them get mine back from the other person that they sold it to and then have to take care of them also. That wasn’t their vehicle to sell to someone else. No one noticed the built for on the window sticker.
It's is now a used vehicle. That will have had 2 owners even though it was short period, value goes way down on the vehicle with
more owners it has. It would also make it look like a problem vehicle. It is not the person's fault who purchased it nor should they suffer as well. It is not Jeeps fault it is the dealerships fault. They breached the contract when they took his deposit enacted on ordering the jeep received the jeep and sold it to someone else. They are in a classic breach even though there was no formal bill of sale in the sense. In court there would be extensive punitive damage. If he accepted the now used vehicle the original poster will not be whole and could not be whole because he did not receive the new jeep.

Dealer would get bad press if they don't do right by what the original poster wants.

My guess is now he can get a fully loaded Rubicon 392 Recon package will all options at the cost of what he was going to get on his original or lower if that will make him whole. It is his choice.

This is my honest opinion

So after speaking to the owner of the dealership who tried explaining that a new manager sold it by mistake and him offering me a bullshit resolution, I politely declined and told him my attorney would be in touch. He asked what I was talking about. I told him he breached our contract by selling my vehicle out from under me. He tried saying we didn't have a contract, ordering a jeep is a courtesy they offer. I told him sure but making me put down a deposit makes it a legal and binding contract. So after he tried convincing me I was wrong, my attorney called and spoke with him and the resolution offered is 40% off invoice of any vehicle in their inventory. Not my jeep I wanted but this opens up new doors. They currently have a Ram TRX, Wrangler 392 and Demon in inventory.
You know... this whole fiasco of yours reminds me of when I went in to order mine. They actually had a 2021 JLUR on the lot with a 6sp manual (which is what I ordered) and we took a look at it. It was an ordered vehicle that was "sold" but the purchaser just hadn't picked it up yet. The sales guy asked if I wanted to test drive it. I declined saying that vehicle basically belonged to someone else. I didn't want to take the chance of something crazy happening to that thing while I was driving it. I was happy to sit in it to check it out, but that was it.

IMO, they shouldn't have even offered that to me. I get it hasn't technically "sold" but that vehicle had someone's name on it. And it's not like they had to sell me... I was already committed to ordering and getting a 6speed at that.

It makes me want to get to the dealer as fast as possible once it arrives so they don't offer up test drives to anyone off the street before I get there.

My dealer had locked those cars in his showroom. I couldn't even get into it. But The ones I checked out in the backyard were new arrivals and I sat in them but they weren't available for a test drive. So I assume they were sold units.

We as consumers need to be able to trust these guys selling us a $50000 vehicle. You hope what You hear on these forums is speculation or lies or honest mistakes made by people.

How would we even know if the dealership did this on purpose or not anyways … we wouldn’t.

?

Like I said earlier... there should be such a clear and obvious paper trail for a vehicle arriving at a dealer - particularly in this market where so few cars are arriving at dealers in the first place - that this mistake should never, ever happen. I don't see any way it could be anything other than intentional.

I get in a "normal" year where a dealer is having several new cars arriving on the lot all the time... weekly... even daily.... that something like that could happen. But not under these conditions in this current market.

Here’s a thought though, and I’m 100 percent in OP’s corner I’d be out of my mind if the dealership did this. But what about the jeeps that got ordered and canceled they still show up with someone’s name. I guess it becomes about communication at the dealership

So, it's been a couple of days. How did you make out? Anything decided yet?

How did you get the est ship date? Ask the dealer or jeep chat?

When my dealer put it in the system it automatically kicked one out.

Sorry I’m a little confused , what do you mean?
When he printed off the order forms for me to sign for the order the system kicked out a est date.

You won't see the build sheet until it's being built. Window sticker when it goes to shipping.
