I'll be quick. Dealer within last 1k miles replaced the right rear backing plate. Needed to pull the axle, but factory doesn't seem to require popping off the diff cover for C-clips.
Question: Does oil come out the tube when pulling the axle?
Because after all the work of putting all the brakes back to factory new, I drained/refilled the rear diff and is was BLACK and the magnetic plug was covered in a half-inch of particles. (Bought it certified at 72k miles. Now has 80k miles.). If they pulled the axle, they didn't drain the oil?
So...had me wondering, I raised all 4 wheels off the ground for the first time and checked the factory LSD. NO proof of function at all. Wheels spin opposite each other. Frictionless. Great.
I have 1 year and 45k miles left on the extended warranty. So here's the next question:
Question: Do I suffer the dealer yanking all my brake work apart to do a shiot job putting in a new shiot Mopar LSD under $100 dollar ext warranty? *OR* Pay great cash for a great shop to put in a great LSD? Costs/ideas please. She's a grocery-getter, a soft-roader and spends 4 months in a snow belt on 33's.
I value your opinions.
