Grill swaps variations Pre-2024

Hi,

Picked up a grill from a JT 2021, my JLUR is a 2022 both have the silver inserts.

Question on anyone who has done a similar swap, did you notice the inserts/silver inserts and shell is different.

My 22 had clips in different places and the silver part covers the grill differently.

Is there different inserts or was it changed for the JT?

It was changed for the JT to allow more airflow, from what I've read. I like the difference; subtle enough to almost not see it.

Edit: I knew about the larger honeycomb sections, as I put them on my JL. I didn't realize the surrounds were different.

Yes the JT, diesel I think, and 392 have bigger openings.

More air flow as mentioned for needed better cooling on the PU, 392,, and diesel.

I’m going to believe one is a grille from a Sport vs a Rubicon or possibly Mojave. The Sport grille outer edge will all be connected where the Rubicon grille’s come apart.

Hi,

Both have silver inserts between the grill inserts and outer shell. So looks wise no real difference, see above images, other than openings in the silver inserts and internal mounting configuration.
