Has anybody nailed down the offset on these wheels?

I've seen a bunch of threads with discussions on it, but no concrete info.

Are they the same as the stock Rubicon wheels?

As Hpc3 noted, the standard 392 wheels are 17x7.5 and have a +44 offset, so it has about a six inch backspace, (which is the same as the standard, non-392 Rubicon wheels.)

The 392 XR wheel for comparison has a ~4.5 inch backspace, (not sure what the official offset on those are since they are 1/2 inch wider I believe at 17x8, and because it’s almost 4 am here, so my brain is too tired to “math” right now ?) so they stick out at least an inch and half more.
(Hence the little 1.5 inch fender flare extensions that come on the XR model.)

Hopefully someone can chime in with what the offset is on the XR 392 if you need it.

There also websites with wheel spacing calculators you can Google, that you can just enter the wheel size of 17x8 with a 4.5 inch backspace and it will tell you what the offset is.

Hope this helps!

Please inform the ignorant— does the trim ring need to be taken off to change the tire?

The 2022 Rubicon XR (not the 392 XR) stock wheels are 17x8, +12ET, 4.97" backspace. This is different than what others have mentioned

I just pulled off a full set of (5) 17x7.5" 2022 Rubicon 392 Beadlock Capable with BFG LT285/70R17 tires. They are brand new take-off's. I haven't had a chance to take any good photos yet. $2,500 for the complete set.

Thanks for pointing that out, I may be wrong about the backspacing on the 392 XR as well then. Might just be ~1 inch less than the base 392, not 1.5 like I thought.

That's ~1.25" so... you're still close =)
