1 is there an issue of travel on the 392 xr? I have seen several threads that suggest that the bump stops limit the up travel true or false?
2 what is the crawl ratio with 456 gears? I saw a video and the guy said it was 48 to 1 which seems kind of crazy compared to the stock Rubicon, which is like 78 or 80 to one.
3 do you carry octane booster? I know it takes premium but there’s premium and there’s premium.?
4 what’s the best way to carry extra gas? I’d like to get that TeraFlex 10 gallon tanks but that means I gotta swap out the rear bumper and all that I already have roto pax gas cans.
5 I see a bunch of 392s that are being sold used some have 900 mile some have up to about 12,000 miles. I cannot fathom why someone would spend 100 Grand drive 900 miles and traded into a dealer? Unless they were getting a newer 392? Any thoughts??

1. The bump stops are longer in order to keep the tires out of the fenders. In reality even a 37" tire fits as they made them a bit too long in my opinion. It's not an issue in daily driving, but uptravel is a bit limited if you're hauling the mail down a tied dirt road. Easy fix is to lift it.
2. Crawl ratio is 58-1, 4.7x2.73x4.56. The 4-1 transfer case makes a huge difference in crawl ratio but you've got enough torque you'll be fine.
3. No need
4. Hinge mounted rotopax mounts are the easiest method
5. Could be repos they couldn't afford, could be they thought it was a Jeep sports car and realized quickly it still drives like a Jeep, could be one of those new car every 3 months people, who knows?

For number 1…

You are asking people about a jeep that they paid 80-100k dollars for. Many are ridiculed for it and told they are pavement princesses. Take answer with a grain of salt.

So to answer the question, the 392xr bumpstop are there to limit up travel by design. That is what a bump stop does. As @Zandcwhite indicates they are too long. They will easily stop a 37 from rubbing. There is not enough lift stock in an XR to not contact the bump stops pretty much over even small obstacles. Conversely if you throw some spacers on and run 37s, you are all set.

The rest of the questions.
2. Crawl ratio is not an issue.
3. Octane booster does not “boost” octane enough to matter. Run what fuel you can get. Be mindful that lower elevation and hotter temps need more octane.
4. I don’t carry extra gas. My 392 gets the same mpg as my 3.6 did or better. Never had an issue in the last 10 years. Don’t expect to now. Off road there is really no difference in mpg.
5. That is normal, people buy expensive things and sell them. It is a rich person thing. They get bored easily and move on quickly. I have had mine since 2021…
