Why anybody would spend $20,000 more dollars for something less efficient than an EcoDiesel is beyond me! ?‍♂
I did. The tax incentive on my first one made sense, and buying my second one used made sense…briefly. :headbang:

I’m really grateful for the fact that 1) my wife is extremely understanding and lets me make the decisions about what sticks around in the garage and 2) the EcoDiesel owners here like you that convinced me to go and drive one. Seriously, y’all have made me a believer and I’m thankful for it.

The 4xe makes a lot of sense if you’re looking at just the raw power numbers and you can make good use of the EV only range on a regular basis. Beyond that, it really falls on its face…hard. Remember, I had 2 4xe’s almost back to back so I got really familiar with how they drive in a lot of situations and poured over tons of fuel/mileage data in that time (not to mention electric charging costs).

I honestly never knew just how bad the weight penalty of the hybrid system was until I started running my highway routes to compare the driving differences with my new EcoDiesel. The same hills I used to have to put my foot down on a little more to kick down gears and climb up are literally ZERO issue for the diesel. I barely tip in on the throttle and it maintains speed effortlessly. It’s literally night and day difference. Fuel mileage is still something I’m tracking to get a realistic average for with my use case but so far it’s wrecking the 4xe’s figures without breaking a sweat.

The bigger question I wish Jeep would ask themselves in the corporate office is why they thought killing this powertrain was a smart decision. It’s gonna be interesting to see how long the Gladiator is going to retain it since as far as I can tell, it’s the only model in the entire Stellantis portfolio that is still being built with it as an option.

Since you identify as a 4XE, do you get to follow those emission standards? Do you get the tax credit too?
:CWL:
The county I live in in Texas, they only do safety checks, there is no emissions testing in my county. So by those standards, I'm technically zero emissions.

So long as the IRS doesn't audit me, that tax credit is as good as mine!!

I've heard of some people getting the 4xe driver side cowl to use as an onboard air port.
I use mine to fill a 1k gallon air tank that I release into the intake when I need extra boost. Its basically like naws. Just hope I dont blow a manifold.

He didn't buy a 4XE. He bought the badge and put it on his diesel.
Yeah I got that... I just didn't understand how your comment correlated to my post...
But it's all good, no harm no foul... I guess I just don't/didn't get it... especially when you tagged the OP.

Just got back from filling up. 647 miles on this tank. All this time I thought I had a 4xe, but it turns out I've got me an EcoDrizzle. Now if I could just find one of those ED badges to slap on her.

My price out the door was $57,300 before the gummint kick-back, so just shy of $50k. Guess you're buying those ED's for $30k? ?‍♂

From your post it didn't sound like you understood it was just the emblem. My comment was in reference to OP already admitting that in the thread.

Ahh... gotcha ... Im a little slow today... lol.

I can see where you got that, but the OP and I had a previous joke on another thread... this was somewhat of a follow-up... inside joke on the SG color.
Cheers !

I know right, my 4XE is amazing!!!

Great timing, I actually filled up on the way home from work as well. Now mind you this is mostly highway driving over the last 4 days, but these 4XE aren't affected by that at all! All the naysayers just don't know because they've never owned one like we have @Dryver !

Sorry for the blurry photo, the 20 mph winds was getting to me and my hands were a little shaky.

I'm actually doing the math here right now for the very first time!

464.1 (miles driven) ÷ 0.092 (gallons of fuel) = 5044.5652173913 MPG

Mine was $43,200 sticker price, with a out the door cost of $45,900!

@Dryver what's your miles per gallon? ? ❤

@Dryver I'm actually going to be doing a Tredsdert style MPG starting tomorrow!

It'll probably be a couple months until I fill up again, because you know it's just so freaking fuel efficient!! But I might cut it short just because people don't have patience for long-term fuel runs like that, then again another do I. ?

I won't need it, but wish me luck guy!! ?
