I'd wait if at all possible... They are mandating all power tools use universal batteries and chargers, much like they did with usb-c and got rid of lightning cable, I think starting in 2026.

Who are "they", and where is the reputable source that you read this?I'd wait if at all possible... They are mandating all power tools use universal batteries and chargers, much like they did with usb-c and got rid of lightning cable, I think starting in 2026.
The current administration (can't get too political or they shut things down). I'm with you, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of tools and batteries that already exist. Would it be nice if all batteries worked on all tools? Of course. It Is awful late for that now.Who are "they", and where is the reputable source that you read this?
I don't see how "they" can make a private company make the parts they manufacture compatible with another brand.
ha yeah and this time I can't even blame it on @roaniecowpony.great, more $$ to spend. jeez, thanks
I ordered one lol
Looks like a good candidate for 3-D printingWell of course this thread got me spending more money. I just ordered a set of these so I can finally hang my DeWalt power tools that have just been sitting on a shelf:

Most of their tools have a belt hook, which hangs just fine on a nail, screw, peg board hook, etc. And I didn't need to buy anything.Well of course this thread got me spending more money. Pretty cool. If I owned a 3d printer I'd make a bunch of these.
Hey, I've been using the hell outta my ProEagle jack. Just not on my stuff. Just rescued some CalTrans guys a few miles from my house while returning from AZ jeeping.ha yeah and this time I can't even blame it on @roaniecowpony.
I have some Kobalt tools. They work pretty good. For my purposes I don't need fancy-shmancy tools, but I have been very impressed with the quality and capability of the Lowe's Kobalt line thus far. I already had several other tools that used their 24v batteries, so stuck with it. Powerful enough for my needs. Currently on sale...

I got this at the same time on an awesome deal and it is really good...
Kobalt 24-volt 3/8-in Keyless Brushless Right Angle Cordless Drill KRAD 1224B-03 at Lowes.com
I've got all sorts of adapters to let me size up/down to whatever 1/4, 1/2, 3/8 attachments I want, so works for my needs.
