Hi, I have a 2018 JLUR 3.6L 8AT and going to change out the fluids out myself for the first time.

Are these the correct products I'll need?

From 21 Owner's Manual, IIRC 75W90 is easier to source. Consensus seems to be 140 is preferred in the rear over the 85.

All you have to do is drain the fluid and fill it back up? So I don't even need new gaskets right?
Regardless, stock gaskets are reusable, similar to lube locker brand gaskets.

Sorry, your product pics didn’t show when I looked at it on my computer.

Yea you shouldn't need to open your diff, it was a few years later the drain plug was nixed from production.

Someone advised somewhere about using bottles with a pump and that made the job easy peazy.

The valvolone flex fill bags also work well without the pump.

I’ve always used the flex fill bags but the last diff change I got a good deal on the gallon jug and decided to try the pump. Maybe it was just me, but I felt like the pump made a bigger mess with the fill hose dripping after you pulled it out ( insert joke here). I’m going back to the flex fill bags.

Just out of curiosity anyone try to use oil pump to siphon the oil out of the diff instead of opening the cover for the one without a oil drain plug ?

It can be done, but opening it up gives you the opportunity to inspect the gears as well, so most on this forum opt to remove the cover.

I have a 2022 with no front drain plug, and have changed my diff oil and swapped covers, and it's a fairly quick and easy task. Though, It can be messy to completely remove the cover if you're not careful.

Not really debating the benefit, just wondering if the oil pump way is a valid alternative.

It does work, but you're missing a few of the benefits of opening the cover. One of the benefits has been mentioned - you get to physically inspect the gears as well as being assured all the fluid is truly out. But also, you are able to wipe off any magnet on the inside of the cover to catch debris, and there typically is some.

I thought about it because I was feeling momentarily lazy and thought it would be nice not to have to remove two diff skids and two covers. But then I thought, How do I know I got all the old diff oil out? Then I thought what if there’s debris in there I would want to know about. So I removed the diff skids and covers. Maybe one of those endoscope inspection cameras with light.
