Also, lets hope the dealer is not blowing smoke up your arse. Which he probably is!

I wouldn't trust Jeep Chat to tell me the weather. From all the info on the forum it seems best to avoid them entirely. Just periodically contact one's dealership.

I was on Jeep chat today and they won't give me any indication of if the 2 doors have started production, where
I am in the build process and if there are any delays in any specific options. At this point, I have 0 idea on where, when or if I'll get my 2 door S. This is my first Jeep or for that matter an FCA vehicle... not off to a great start. I understand that there are delays with a new model but the lack of transparency if a HUGE concern... 50/50 if I don't just walk away... anyone talk me off the ledge?

Hey, hang in there! I was about to give up a week ago. This is my first wrangler as well. It will be amazing when you get it, and you’ll be glad you hung in there! It will break your heart to see other driving JLs and you had given up. Stick with us, buddy!!!

Hi, new member here. Wanted to pass on what I was told yesterday. Background is that I did the deal on an "In Transit" JLUR on 3/31 and the dealership thought it would arrive on 4/16. I got a phone call from a friend who is a finance mgr at the dealership to update me yesterday. He actually put me on the phone with the GM or GSM (don't remember which). He told me that Jeep has 30k vehicles stuck in "containment," whatever that means. The dealership is getting no answers from the manufacturer (Jeep) as to why. He told me that they were told that the units they have on order and "in transit" should arrive in June. He offered to unwind my deal or let it stand, my choice... I let it stand. He told me that only 3 customers at our dealership were in the same boat as me (having already done the deal) but that up in the midwest - they were really suffering as a result of this. Gonna post this on other sites that deal with JLs as well.

The forum member may be telling / posting exactly what he / she was told by the dealer, but it might very well be, the dealer was blowing smoke up the buyer's arse.

Same here. I have never ordered and recieved parts before the vehicle before thou. Kinda weird, lol

May have been a mistake, but ordered 12/15 with premium soft top, been in and out of D for months. Jeep chat as well as this forum indicated a 5/14 start for the P Top, if it does not get postponed. Had dealer change to a black hard top yesterday (Friday the 13th) and will see if I move out of D. Keep your fingers crossed.

Changed from premium soft to black hard top Friday, and after months in D, went to D1 Monday morning. (dealer) I guess I'll check chat, but do not know if that will make a difference.
