Hi all,

I'm a reasonable person. I purchased the frame mounted spare tire carrier from Poison Spyder thru the local 4WD store at the end of July.
The packaging was great, no issues at first. I get everything installed and it didnt feel right. It turned out PS never installed the races in the bracket.
A quick email to PS and I was assigned a ticket #. I went back and forth with "Ricardo R" and a few days later he stated PS will send out new races, bearings and seals. I would press them in myself. They stated it will take 14 to 21 days for delivery on August 5. Crickets for a month.
I reached out to them again on Sept 21. They assign another ticket #. Crickets again. Two weeks later I sent them a follow up email. Nothing!
I feel I was strung along to past the 30 day return policy. I ended up purchasing new bearings, races and seals on my own dime. Everything was assembled and is functional now.

I wanted to let everyone know of my experience with Poison Spyder. Buyer be aware.

FYI. My carrier did not have the slide on the left of the frame bracket either.

Have you called them? What does a human say when you're speaking to them on the phone?
PS was well regarded back in the JK era. Don't hear much about them these days. Shrokworks was another brand that everyone had to have. Now? Nada.

Sounds like you’re too far into it on your own, but (besides calling to speak to someone as was already mentioned) I probably would have removed it and refuted the charge with my credit card company. An unusable item was provided and the company wasn’t providing what was needed to make it right.

Bottom line, the OP paid good money and got a product that was a result of a poor or non-existent quality control system, then got stiff armed. That's enough for me. They're on my 86 list for not following up. It's always no big deal, until it's you. Vote with your money, people.

I had similar experience with Road Armor. Disputed everything on my credit card and they immediately sent out the missing hardware (wasn’t like a few things missing, but all of it). As soon as I disputed, they followed up with me as if I was a nuisance and sent out my hardware (I then reversed the dispute). This was after they stringed me along for weeks.

Wouldn't recommend them.

This would also be another reason to avoid them for the price they charge.

Reminds me of the EVO crap I took off. It was a whole day affair to put it on and after the first winter, the thing started rusting all over my tailgate. I tried contacting EVO and never got a response. I left it on there until this Summer when I notice my tailgate was sagging. I ended up giving it to a forum member that was going to clean it up and repaint it. LOL

I'm surprised your 4wd dealer from whom you purchased & who installed did not handle this

I installed it. The nearest 4WD is about an hour away and had a Grand Opening in May. I wanted to check it out. LOL
