Getting 12volt power ARB Compressor

Hello,

I'm going to install the MORE ARB Compressor mount on my JLUR. I noticed Expedition Essentials sells a 17 ft extension to get the power to the battery. Why couldn't I just take power from the 12volt outlet that is in the cargo area already instead of snaking the extension all the way to the battery? Am I missing something?

The compressor needs much more current than what that power outlet (wire thickness, fuse) can provide.

You will pop the fuse if you use that connection. If you go ahead and put in a higher current fuse, you will melt the factory wire harness that powers that outlet. And then you have a much bigger problem than snaking a pair of wires to the battery.
