There was a ton of commentary here about whether the HEMI will survive past 2023 or not. It's still not totally clear - Dodge officially announced it is definitely dead. But, there are more brands under the Stellantis umbrella than just Dodge. Ram might keep the HEMI, but there hasn't been an official announcement about that. Jeep will almost certainly ditch it because it is a low volume item. We'll just have to see. Here's a link from today:

It's only a low volume item because of the price...and configuration. I bought my Rubicon for 38k, if the 392 was 48k they would sell like hotcakes. 80k is a deal breaker for many.
2 door 392 is my dream, don't tell me it's not safe. I've seen the swap and I know how to drive!

The one concern I have regards this auto stop/start silliness. When working the motor (aka trailering in traffic) those turbos are going to get real hot. As you shut off the motor every 40 feet, the oil is not flowing and the risk of coking the turbo bearings is very real.

To tell you the truth, I have the same concern on my ordered wrangler with the turbo i4. I intend to get the doggle to permanently disable the auto stop/start for that reason. screw the .01 mile/gal improvement. Starters and turbos are not cheap to replace.
I don't think you need to worry. I bought a Bronco Sport for my family but I'm driving it until my 392 arrives. It has the 2.0L turbo. During the hot weather here in Dallas the Auto start/stop was disabled by the engine control. It was clearly driven by the high temperature. Jeep/Ford/Volvo whoever is not going to let auto start/stop kill their turbos.

Unsafe? BS, the shorter, more narrow, and much lighter with rudimentary steering and suspension CJ’s often had V8 swaps to a higher HP-WT ratio. 10 year DD 375 HP 63 CJ5, I did add power steering. Edit— no traction control, stability control, sensors, warning beepers, speed limiter, etc!

That's the argument I hear from FCA apologists when we ask for a 2 door Hemi.

Go get one if you appreciate what the Jeep engineers did and have the coin.

Like it or not, all the manufacturers are eventually going electric. Gasoline isn’t going going away for quite some time but if you want a new vehicle, at some point electrons will be your only option.. The V8 is going the way if the Dodo…

Yeah, that's the way it is going. I personally think it's a bad move in a number of ways, but it could be good for those of us who keep our ICE cars. Just think - demand for gas will go down, and when demand goes down, so do prices. I don't mind driving something that gets 13 MPG if gas comes back down to $2.50/gallon.

Tree huggers can kiss my spare tire. As they all go EV, and the power grid craps out, and gas prices have come down like crazy due to lack of demand, I'll be laughing as I stomp on the loud pedal while they're calling the utility company for power.
That’s why I have solar panels and batteries. Now I just need Stellantis to spit out a JLEVR. ;)

Very true. Right after high school I picked up a ‘79 CJ7 with a 360 out of a wagoneer. 9 mpg when it had a 4 barrel. 12 mpg with the 2. But gas was .99¢

I am a huge fan of naturally aspirated V8 motors.

If the Wrangler Rubicon 392 was a supercharged V8 I would probably have passed on ordering one.
As an owner of a supercharged V8 car (Ford GT), you would love what a supercharger adds to a hi-po engine, it fills in every missing bit of the torque curve, so it is a monster at every speed in every gear.

Sounds great, I could supercharge my V6 get same horsepower as the 392.
It works for the 2.slow turbo 4 guys bragging about same hp as V6.
