Not at all. Never had issues with 4runner. But did with some of my wranglers.

Having Had 2019 JL Rubicon 4 door then 22 392 xr then 22 4xe Rubicon and have 21 Toyota trd pro 4runner. I would say the 4runner is definitely better on the road. Yes its old but it does well off-road and is bullet proof. Can only wish Jeeps have Toyota like quality.

Get the 392, fixes many of those issues.

Toyota first came out with Lunar rock Then Bronco came out with Cactus Grey Now Jeep copied them. As owner of 21 lunar rock trd pro 4R, I am glad that I ordered a 392 in earl grey.

Just ordered my Earl 392 base. Had 392 xr hydro earlier in the year but was not right time for me. Had to let it go. Can't wait.

Decided to Order Earl base 392. Now my wife heard and wants one too. So I might order an xr as well.

Having had both. The XR is great just not sure as a daily the extra 4k is worth it. Never driven the fox suspension base, that's why I started thread for insight. The trd pro 4R doesn't have a good tranny or the power but the ride is way softer with better road handling than the 392 xr. 392 xr...

Or I will just order one of each and close this thread.

It has less of a punch right? The xr punch off the line made it feel like a muscle car.

Does the regular 392 drive different due to gearing?
