After some consideration I've decided to opt for the GDE tune for my wife's '21 JLUD Willys 3.0. I want to be able to possibly trade it in at a retail dealer someday and I've come to the conclusion that the risk of leaks, cracking parts etc of a Stage I EGR disabling is high. If I'm going to keep the aftertreatment equipment in place, I think I'd rather it keep being used with a great tune strategy instead of it not functioning and just sitting their getting hot and potentially cracking / leaking etc. Either fully commit to a Stage II and complete removal of aftertreatment parts or just keep using the systems already in place is my opinion. Anyways, looking forward to getting my GDE tune installed!

Are you buying a 2nd PCM? Im considering this tune too and trying to decide if i want to bother with another PCM or if i just want to plan to sell it tuned or send it back to flash it back to stock.

I had already purchased a new blank PCM about a yr ago and just had it cloned so I will go that route...you don't have to do what I've done anymore, you can just flash back & forth between stock and tuned nowadays. Good luck!

I did not know that! Well then, my timeline for a tune may be moved up a bit since i wont need the additional cash for the extra PC and the cloaning.

Let me know how it goes with your tune!

JD, tell me more about the flash back & forth feature. Is it stealthy when used without a cloned PCM?

Have their been reports or threads with information from people where this has been happening?

Installed my GDE tune three years ago when I bought it and now have 83k. For the most part no issues. Running 37" KO2's and I am getting 22-24 mpg and can get to 60 in less than 6 seconds (put it in 4hi and brake torque it to 3000). Only drawback is that I seem to have more wear on my LR tire. Had to replace the first one at 36k. The one that sat on that corner is now on my RF and is more worn than the others. I started to reduce my OCI to 5k once I hit 50k. Have not convinced the wife to let me upgrade hers with the tune so I get a good contrast between them. Love the revised throttle response.

The GDE tune is not a delete tune but it does reduce some of the emission crap that is harmful to your engine. Unfortunatly it is not CARB legal though.
