When I bought my JK I ordered the locking gas cap. There were 2 available, one like you could find at any auto parts store and one matched the ignition key. I bought the one matched. I think it was about $100 but from the accessory catalog it was to be matched and come with a dummy key (no electronics). Parts department matched the lock and cut the key as part of the price. I liked the idea of the dummy key, I can go swimming, kayaking get it wet and not worry about it. Yes it sets off the alarm but I know where I have the key hidden so no big deal.

I had also bought the factory hood lock. Funny on the JK forums people in the UK were saying it was standard equipment there.

If they ever come out with the insert for the wider 392/diesel/Gladiator slots I will get a Mopar hood lock! They should have by now!

Today I pumped 19 gallons of ethanol free for my outdoor power equipment. $76 at 4.25 a gallon! I figured I’d better get it now.

I paid $5.15 per gallon for 91 octane E10 this morning. That's the grade I use in the Jeep and in the Ural, so its my benchmark.

Expect fuel prices to increase after today's announcement of a ban on Russian oil imports.

Either get the $100 Mopar one with another $40 for the locksmith to key it

The Mopar locking fuel cap is presently $69 on Amazon. I paid $61 last autumn, and keyed the cap myself using the Quadratec video for guidance. I enjoyed the process so much that I'd offer to do the same for free for any local Jeep owners.

I was stationed in England for several years. Automotive and especially motorcycle theft rates over there might shock some of us. It makes complete sense that fuel cap and hood locks, etc. would be standard fitments in that market.

All these stories make me want to put a false gas tank under the JL full of piss and shit. Alternatively, here's hoping someone can climb under my tesla and drill into the lithium-ion cells.

Taking the necessary precautions, and for the sake of scientific curiosity, I once heated a lithium AA battery with a pencil torch. The results were such that I'd want to steer well clear of a collision in which a Tesla was involved. Those things strike me as rolling Superfund sites.

Stocking a false tank with pee & poop is an order of magnitude safer, lol.
