@dsgreyI have the locking hood and gas cap. I plan to keep mine a long time so a minor cost. Mine is in the garage most of the time but I'm old enough to have experienced gas theft back in the 70's when prices jumped and no vehicle had a locking gas cap. We'll be at $4 gallon soon (California laughs) and I'll bet the guys checking car doors late at night might begin targeting the very few known models that don't have locking gas caps.
Back in the day you could siphon gas from a car/truck.... yup....
But .....Have you tried to siphon gas out of a JL or JT. As far as I'm concerned, installing a locking gas cap on a JL or JT is wasted $. Go try and siphon gas out of your JL... Good luck with that.
Unless you are worried about someone putting something in your tank then a locking gas cap may be something you want/need.
