Every platform seems split on this, which is why I’m curious where this community stands!

For me, it’s totally vehicle-dependent.
• My JDM cars stay clean and street-focused: retrofitted projectors, tasteful RGB, and details that lean into the aesthetic.
• My trucks/SUVs flip the script: functional lighting, roof bars and pods, chase lights… if it serves a purpose, it earns a place on the build.

So let’s hear it — what guides your setup? Are you chasing max visibility and utility? Keeping it stylish for the parking-lot flex 👀? Or are you one of the guys or gals who actually manages both? If you’ve got photos that show your upgrades, post them! Always cool seeing how other people make their rigs match their personality.

For me it’s function. I want to be able to use my jeep for what it’s intended for. I could not care less what it looks like in the parking lot or at a car show. My jeep is on the OEM+ side of things right now because that’s what I wanted. Aside from my $2500 tires I’m into my lift about $100 got a free $600 winch and free rubicon fenders. I’d love to get the rubicon steel bumpers and some lights for the jeep when on the trail at night and cooking in camp. I like full functionality!

Function first, but that doesn't mean style is optional. The best approach is to pick mods that meets my bar for purpose & function - then pick the options, brands that continues/accentuates the overall styling of the build.

Function but lately some of my function decisions have bombed for example I was replacing the cargo net panels with metal ones but the back seat delete won’t allow the door to close.

2026 Willys 2.0T 2DR Hard Top in Mojito built for me!
Function first, but style MUST be there.

I like the Willys package because I feel safer in it when driving on snowy roads than I did with my two former Sports. This is probably just something I tell myself, but I also feel that I don't need all the Rubicon extras because I don't go offroading. (I always say "yet".) Wranglers have been very good to me since I got my first one in 2001.

For me, Jeep is absolutely right when they say color is the most important thing after safety. I would still be driving my 2006 Sport peanut if Tuscadero hadn't come out in 2024. However, they really need to step up the interior and detail color options. These limited editions they're coming out with are nice, but those options should stay one way or another. There's something so beautiful and retro about a white Jeep with a tan top and interior, for example.

But I have since learned that I definitely worshipped that pink vehicle and blame my lack of traveling due to fear it would be stolen. I'm pretty religious and now understand all the wrong feelings I had back then, and now that the 4xe recalls are in full swing (again).

My 2026 "little green Jeep" order has all the bells and whistles, and hopefully will last as long as the TJ peanut, but I'm not going to be so precious with it. Mojito was always a color I loved as much as Tuscadero.

I opted for the stock halogen headlights when I ordered my Jeep, so initially function was the concern once I realized how poorly they illuminated the road at night. With an LED bulb swap I got the function I need for the most part, so now it's more about form. I like the aesthetics of some of the replacement options for LED lights so it's on my list for a future upgrade.

But it’s got the good stuff, bumpers and full belly skid for protection, 5.13 gears, small lift and Even the wheels are replicas that are wider and have better offset. Im not into bling or ducks.

Function > Form

I judge people harshly who go form over function.

Even though they are here and likely outnumber those that truly venture beyond an occasional forest service road, I doubt you’ll find many people that confess to choosing form over function.

It's truly inspiring that your R&D department has so much free time to screw with AI instead of quality control.
