are you even sure it’s the belt making noise?
There's an idler and tensioner pulley. If they've never been changed, it's probably time.
If anyone has been screwing around with adding cans of crap into the AC system, that can cause the compressor to lock up or require higher torque. It's happened to me. The solution was evacuate the system and recharge by weight.
