Looking for the best/budget front bumper to get?

I was leaning towards an aluminum front bumper like the Rockhard 4x4 one for the weight savings but just want to check if there's alternatives that are just as good at a lower price?

Also, for a 2 door sport on stock suspension would steel be too heavy and sag the front? Will eventually get a synthetic winch but just want to get the front bumper first for now so aluminum seems to future-proof the weight as well

I like the stubby or mid width look so choosing between those as well

Thanks for your input!

Would this be just as good as the Rockhard aluminum bumpers or no?

You get what you pay for when it comes to fabricated parts for Jeeps. Id highly recommend saving more money and looking at companies like Next Venture or Cavfab.

As for weight, its not nearly the concern a lot of people make it out to be, and the kind of weight you want is as low as possible so bumpers, under body skids and the like are all good weight.

This is pretty much the same bumper I had on my 2018. Granted, I never did any hardcore crawling/offroading so it never went through it's paces, but it is a pretty damn good bang-for-buck metal bumper imo. I swapped out for LED fogs and smittybilt winch at the same time and it served me well for 7+ years

If you can find someone selling their Mopar steel front bumper, they are pretty strong and you might be able to find a good deal.

For example.... https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/mopar-front-bumper.134050/

For an example of the strength:

My Jeep hit a Mustang hard enough to do this:

after separating the vehicles, the only damage to the front of the Jeep was the plastic license plate holder and scratches on the bumper:

I put on the LOD stubby and a Warn winch. So far so good. Quality seems great.

Steel bumper and winch definately made my JLUR sag in the front. Under braking I could really feel the front end dip. Lift kit remedied this 100%. I have the Mopar steel bumber so it's not even a heavy unit. My winch is there for "if needed" reasons, not "when needed" so I cant vouch for long term frequest winching durability.

I bought a Rockhard 4x4 aluminum full width front bumper shortly after I bought my JLUR in 2018. Recently, my plastic covered rear bumper was looking like it was about to fall off, so I bought a Rival 4x4 rear aluminum bumper. I like the Rival bumper better. Check them out. JEEP BUMPERS

I bought the "stubby" rear bumper, which is almost full width.

Ah okay good to know, Rockhard isn't near the level of quality as those two mentioned?

I considered the oem steel bumper too but thought it would be too heavy for sport stock suspension? Makes me want to upgrade the bumper asap for the safety aspect of it too haha

Rockhard makes a good bumper, its what my dad has run on his 22 since he got it and seems to like it fine enough. But he went with them due to it being a toad behind their RV.

I have the Cavfab tire carrier and diff covers, and the NV front bumper (will end up with one of their rear bumpers and eventual 6" rear stretch kit) and their quality is top notch and the customer service has been fantastic. I also have the Metalcloak undercloak and Motobilt fender liners and those are also super quality pieces.

Do you know if they offer powder coated ones? I'm only seeing exposed aluminum versions

I went with Metal Cloak this time around. It's not too heavy and well constructed.
