Hey guys. Wondering if any of you have one of those frame flushing kits. I've been looking at options and came across the salt shift frame flush kit. Wondered if any of you have any experience with this or any other kit and if you have any recommendations

I’m curious about this too. Is there also any concern in doing more harm than good with this?

Just out of curiosity, what sort of harm could it do? I’ve been thinking about this product as well

I just want a good way to get the gunk out of there.. I do Krown undercoat every year.. so I want to have a way to start cleaning it out before I get my application every year.. just for more protection.. mine is a 2021 but still looks brand new underneath.. I want to keep it that way

The only thing i could think of for a thought process of doing any harm would be water sitting in there causing rust.. but you're getting water and dirt in there from just driving.. and after flushing, air flow from sitting and driving around will dry it out before it has a chance to rust.. and then I have Krown undercoat applied every year so I think the combination of flushing and coating will stop corrosion

I have the salt shift kit. It works ok. Not as powerful as I would have hoped, but it’s the best solution I found so far for the frame rails. I use their solution to flush it, I also have an adapter for my powe wash wand that I can get into the frame as well.

Fair point. Maybe some compressed air after the flush to help dry it out?

I also found this option.. slightly cheaper than the salt shift.. good reviews.. but i wonder what the psi is on these things. I would think you would need some good pressure

I've been thinking about this and usually will just flush water through the holes until it comes out mostly clean. I think those kits posted above do the same thing as sticking a hose in a hole and flushing water through.

I use fluid film and yes, there's a build up in the frame. From what I read about it (and any lanolin based product) is that water will sit on top of the fluid film, preventing it from reaching the metal. I'm no scientist, but I have no indication of rust anywhere.

As for cleaning the frame rails, I don't think cold water is enough to fully clean it. Whenever I've done it, there was always some dirt and fluid film left. One other option that I've been thinking about is using a pressure washer drain cleaning end attachment. You put it at the end of the pressure washer hose and it sprays water every which direction. You would probably have to take a bumper end off so you can have full access to the frame. I don't know if all this work is worth doing it though.

That's not a bad idea too

Back on the computer... This was something I was thinking about. Of course, you'd want a very low pressure pressure washer, as you don't want to strip whatever is in the frame off. But this was the idea I had.

Thinking about it, I don't know if it would work. I know there's a rail through the frame at the front. And thinking about it, there's also one at the rear above the axle. Maybe it'll work, maybe it wouldn't.
