Was wondering if anyone can recommend what fox shocks model and springs I have to get to achieve a 2in lift for my stock jlu '21?

Primarily i don't know how to match the springs and shock length together to get a 2 or 2.5in lift and was hoping for some piinters.

Sounds like it might be easier for you to just get the Dynatrac or Mopar lift kit that come with coils for a 2" to 2.5" lift and Fox shocks allegedly matched to their spring rates.

These are nice just would like shocks with external reservoir.

@mariooog What model JLU do you have? What are your plans with it (daily driver, daily/offroad, overlanding, etc)? Springs will set the height of the Jeep and the shocks will control the compression and rebound. let Us know what mods you have/plan to have as well as intended use will help guide you to a specific lift.
After you decide on a lift you can reach out to @AccuTunedJL at Accutune Offroad to match a set of shocks.

@GATORB8 @Hucke_250 it's a '21 JLU Rubicon 3.6l with tow package.

What I'm looking to use it for is all-around highway, desert, dunes, some rock crawling.

Primarily I want to upgrade the shocks and get a little extra clearance. Mainly because i keep blowing shocks in the desert when it's hot because I'm riding 6-8 hours at a time. And also my passenger side is sagging a bit seems like.

Want to also cushion the front with hydrolic bump stops so when I run into a dip it does not bang me out.

The adjustable reservaur socks may help with my needs I was thinking but I'm not sure how to find the length and matching springs.

Also I want to keep the rake in the rear so I can load up the jeep camping gear and have it not sag much.

Thank you for your help with this, much appreciated.

You might want to look at Clayton or AEV springs if you want to keep rake in the rear.
Accutune has a bunch of tech articles, one shows how to determine shock length, plus they list the FOX DSC 2.5's specs on their website if those are the ones your after.

I did find these 2 kits that already come with what i want, how do they compare to each other anyone have a preference?

https://accutuneoffroad.com/product/jeep-wrangler-jl-3-lift-kit-stage-5/
-with the fox 2.0 shocks

or

https://teraflex.com/jl-4dr-2-5-alpine-ct2-short-arm-suspension-system-no-shocks.html
-and buy separate fox 2.0 shocks
The Accutune lift is a 3 inch/1.5 inch lift and designed to be level.

I would think a Clayton, Metalcloak or Rock Krawler lift with a set of Accutune Fox 2.5 shocks may be your best option.
Im not sure if the load carrying capability of Metalcloak and Rock Krawler. You may need helper bags in the rear springs for when you’re really loaded down for comping.

So, I think some measurement and calculation are going to help you out here. For a primer, @AccuTunedJL has a great write up here: https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/guide-to-suspension-design-for-going-fast-in-comfort/

You can adjust a little with air/hydro bumps, but with stock bump setup you should be around 16.25" shock length at metal to metal bump in front, 17" in the rear.

A great resource to play with is going to be @AnnDee4444 's spreadsheet here: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...gs-suspension-information-chart-matrix.66591/

Since you run desert at speed, I'd recommend a bunch of uptravel. I run about 5" of uptravel, and would prefer more if I did a lot of speed work. You should be around 3.5" of uptravel in a stock Rubi:
Jeep Wrangler JL Fox shock and spring recommendation 1683553229924

Note, most spring lifts will net you at least a little more than advertised, as they are normally based on a very heavy Rubi.

What tire package are you planning on? Biggest challenge with a shorter lift will be trying to not increase bump stop. If you lift 2" and add 2" of bump, you may improve other places, but you'll end up with the same uptravel you already have.

I am running a Metalcloak Game changer with Fox 2.5 DSC from Accutune. They tuned them perfectly for my application and have been super helpful. I like the adjustably due to my loads change when I am wheeling vs around town. I would reach out to them as they have been awesome!

Ive reached out to Accutune sales, will let you know what they say, below is the email i wrote them:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Was wondering if you can help me out, im looking for a suspension upgrade for my Jeep. Some of the guys on JLForum pointed me to you and i saw you have stage 4 and 5, do i need stage 5?

This is what im looking for:
  • 2-3" lift, this limitation is with my garage parking clearance, right now i have 7" clearance with stock Rubicon and Gobi roof rack.
  • Fox reservoir shocks, either 2.0 or 2.5 adjustable maybe, not sure if i will need adjustable. What would that give me?
  • Mostly im using my Jeep on road and highway.
  • When i go off road i go to the Desert dunes.
  • Long and heavy camping road trips.
  • Some occasional intermediate rock crawling, nothing too extreme but very rarely.
  • Mostly Desert riding, i would like not to bottom out when hitting dips
  • My stock robicon suspension is sagging a bit now 2 years in and one of my shocks is bleeding. So i would like to avoid that with this one.
  • The jeep has the following additions:
    • Gobi roof rack
    • Warn elite full front bumper
    • Warn Evo10 winch
    • Stock rear bumper
  • I would like to keep the rear rake for when i load up the jeep with camping gear, that way it does not look like it saggy when loaded, if possible.
My Jeep: 2021 JLU Rubicon 3.6L with tow package

Hope you guys can help me or make a recommendation. Thank you in advance!

This is what John said: and i do like it, my other question is, do i really need to replace the control arms or can i just get the Stage 3 kit and call it the day?

Thanks for your email and details! I will start off, that every Jeep will sit differently after a lift, so anytime Garage Clearance is mentioned, I make customers aware of that.

We appreciate you considering our lift, and we think it would be great for your uses since it is meant to be a 3" lift for your engine and modifications. If you need some rear rake, you can add polyurethane spacers afterwards to tune in the height to your needs.

Stage 3 is the base kit, if you have a fresh Jeep. Stage 4 is the Complete kit, and Stage 5 is the bonus kit which includes Yeti Steersmarts Steering if your steering parts are ready to be replaced with something stronger.

Your uses with it being unloaded, and then having variable weights and uses easily justifies having adjusters, but obviously it's a big price jump from 2.0s to 2.5s. No matter what, shocks are a wearable part, and will eventually leak, but when our shocks leak, you rebuild them instead of paying all of that money again.

We will custom tune whichever shock package you choose, to the unique weight and uses of your vehicle within our Adventure Tuning perspective.
