We have this for a while and peoples continue to use theirs phone when driving. I think the most blatant aspect of this is the number of peoples distracted at drive thru because of their phone.
Fortunately they're not usually going 85 in the drive through.

Around here if you hit someone in the trunk you get a ticket, following some one to close. So we keep our distance and adapt our driving with the conditions. Because they don't care if there was a patch of ice, ask me how I know.
I got you. But todays aggressive drivers the rules have changed

And another one of my gripes of the foresight with the “tech” the whole antenna in the windshield which I cannot stand. My 2023 I just put a cool tiny antenna cost me 20 bucks and it looks great! I don’t have to worry if my windshield cracks it won’t be any additional cost to replace with the antenna embedded in it. 90% of the time if I’m actually listing to the radio, which is next to never, it’s my local sports station (I’m in the New York area which is great boomer & gio are my favorite) my 2024 would prob cost a small fortune to fix/replace.

Just a heads-up that I was in the middle of a five-car pileup that most likely would not have happened if the girl that slammed into us (stopped to avoid a collision in front of us) at 60 had one of those nanny features. There would have been some severe lawsuits if she (or her dad) had intentionally done something like you're describing. Lawsuits x4, of course.

I'm not saying not to do it. Just be aware of the potential consequences.
why a lawsuit? Collision detection (last I heard) wasn't a standard requirement for vehicles. If anything her insurance premium goes through the roof?

As we all know the 2024 Rubicon came standard with forward collision warning (I absolutely loathe pretty much all the forced ridiculous tech, including that ridiculous iPad screen) I optioned my two door Rubicon, pretty much as simple as possible purposely, a 2 door manual transmission with just a hardtop from the factory. However there was no way I couldn’t get my rubicon without these tech options standard. I was wondering if it is at all possible to somehow delete the fcw system altogether and get rid of that giant box that obstructs the windshield like an eyesore. Any input would be awesome!
I have the same problem except with telemetry. It sucks when people say you agreed to X when you bought it when you had no choice otherwise no vehicle. Would love nothing more than to take out the entire thing and while we are at it give me back an analog fuel and temp gauge.

In the meantime what happens if you block the camera somehow? Throw some tape on there and see if she panics?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but it seems logical that I could be held responsible for the consequences of defeating something that would have otherwise prevented injury to another.

Then, of course, there are scenarios where one of my kids / family members gets injured / killed when they're driving it. Not necessarily a lawsuit, but the potential implications are less than pleasant.

We are totally on the same page, I agree with you totally.

The connection for it should be under the driver side cowl plate (You know that empty plug everyone asks about when they take the cowl off?) Not sure what the errors that would pop up without it connected but that would be my first mod if just turning it off through UConnect isn't enough.

Yeah it’s literally been off since the first time I went inside the Jeep, and I see where it’s connected and the whole box and everything. I can only imagine the Christmas tree warning warning lights that would pop up and other electrical gremlins it would cause to take it all out which, I would want to do if I decide to own it long term. For example there’s a constant little yellow light (looks like a check engine) in my dash reminding me that I have the system off.
